***Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread***

I have no problem with him supporting who ever he wants, but it disturbs me to no end to see "an American" patronising African teams by claiming they lacked fitness, then "mental stamina: and now a deficiency of decision ability...

Well the US team does contain a lot of african who have poor decision making abilities, and lack fitness if you look at Onyewu...so maybe that is what Americans see?:dunno:

Now they are insulting us by having Marcellus Wiley and some bimbo hosting a World Cup football show. Of course they have given an award to London Donovan goal already... I grant they will not give any award to Gyan's majestic strike...

I do not care...I was pointing the apparent hypocrisy in the eagerness to be condescending to the people from the land you claim your parents came from.

Fact is not condescending. You yourself called it village football, so please save the hyprocrisy statement, and have a look in the mirror.

And you also didn't answer my question, (a habit that's a growing trend with you)

Where in Africa are you from?

That's exactly what we see. Fact is fact. We play below average football here in this country.

I've never disputed that.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha Maurice Edu who happened to be their best defensive midfielder and Onyewu who happens to be their best defender... To say nothing of Africans who have preceded them on the US team.

The US fans don't like blacks?

I've rocked with tons of US fans, many of whom who are black, and the shit is kosher. White fans support the blacks on the team as one, so I don't know where you get this from.

I'm not delusional when it comes to racism, but I also don't let it consume me. There's racism everywhere you go. No country is safe from hatred from anyone. So why nitpick?

I was born and raised here. My mentality is American. My life is in America.

It's not where my parents are from. I respect it, but i'd be delusional to follow their footsteps, when my life is completely different from theirs.

No country has to be safe from racism...but that^^^^ Really? You would be kidding if you did not see that there is a concentrated effort to keep soccer white and middle class in this nation.

Whats an American mentality? Americans are nothing more than isolated western Europeans.

Lol, next you're gonna say Keita's flop was legitimate.

Do not extrapolate your problems to us..our best defenders include John Mensah above others who is a rock in defense... We have the likes of Abedi Ayewu in midfield; we are good, when we want to play, ask Pienaar...

And? This is my biggest gripe about US Soccer. I've stated this a million times. It's a suburban sport that needs to change.

But a Facebook page... a social site, is the best you can come up with??

Go have a run in with some Lazio Ultras, and then talk to me about racism.

3rd attempt, where are you from?

Lol, next you're gonna say Keita's flop was legitimate.

I do not believe in flopping and I resent flopping.. The call that resulted in getting Kaka a red card was a disgraceful travesty. But you have to agree that cheating is not the African way; rather it is the way people beat us. Do you remember Suarez handling the ball against Ghana, Suarez flopping against South Africa, Fabiano handling the ball that led to the goal, The Argentine defence holding the defender who was supposed to run into the space Henize headed the ball from... The list goes on and on and on... These racists will do whatever to avoid losing to a blackman..

What dioes Marcellus Wiley know about football... How can you say Forlan's goal was better than that of van Brockhorst.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha They talked about every goal, and even some saves, but have said zero about Gyan's goal that eliminated them from the World Cup...

Even if they do become more urban whites will stop supporting it..like with "Team USA" basketball.

So are you going on record to say that the only racism in US soccer is on facebook?

The NBA, the US most popular sports brand abroad, claims to be bleeding red ink. A few months ago, its commissioner came out to say that the league was having to borrow 400 million a year... Americans are fed up of watching black men...

If that's what you believe, i'm not here to change your mind. You don't have to support the US, and no one is asking you to.

And i've never said the only racism in US Soccer in on Facebook. We all know the perils that colored people face in this country, but in comparison to the world? We don't deal with shit.

Brothas here are given the chance to shine. Our major sports here proves that. I'm not 100% on this, but i'm willing to bet blacks are more successful in the U.S. than anywhere else in the world. But step outside the US, and take a stern look at the treatment of black folk in the world, and you'll come home with a a better appreciation for how fucked up this world can be at times.

Absolutely, we have our problems of racism, but no different than anywhere in the world.

By your logic, no team should be supported because they're all racists.

Do you not read the posts Nzinga writes? Really?

An outsider with no knowledge of American Sports. Stay in your lane.

The NFL is thriving more than ever. A league that is 75% black. What's your point?

Ask these rednecks down in Alabama if they won't support the Razorbacks because it's full of black athletes. Ask white LSU alumni if they won't give brothas a chance to shine. :smh:

These college teams in the south have ridiculous following, and i'm being incredibly general here.

The NBA has salary issues, which is killing the sport, but to suggest that Americans are tired of watching the black man ball?

Delusional.

Exactly, and its apparent on all US forums. Most people think the internet is just the "lots of hot air", but it directly shows the psyche of a society.

A basketball player is automatically a thug in appearance to americans. They are big, black, long hair, and sometimes even a tattoo; everything american society tells us to fear of black men. This is why they wanted them to wear "European suits" and other bullshit to appeal to white audiences. Thats why I laugh at dumb negros who go on and on about basketball. Stern and basketball would trade every last one of you negros for just a quarter more of the white American viewing audience. How much they respect you just look at the commercials during a basketball game. A million military commercials getting young blacks to sign away their life for some oil they will never get to use when they come home dead and broke.

The reason why the NFL is popular is that in the alpha position, that of quarterback, white men dominate. Nothing in the world proves to and reminds them of what they consider to be white superiority... That is why the NFL is so popular. The day black people dominate, the NFL will go the way of the NBA and boxing. In the case of boxing, white people actually agitated for boxing to be banned because it was too violent. All that was good and righteous until white people invented MMA

In the South, and specifically Alabama, they did not allow black people on their football teams until the early 1970s. What forced their hand was the fact that teams with black players on them were allowed to play the all white SEC teams, and the all white teams were beaten. An important milestone in this regard happened when a USC that was full of black players, with a black QB, went to Mobile AL and beat Bear Bryant's all white Alabama. The stands were full of crackers, and the evidence of black superiority was laid stark in front of them. At the end of that game, Bear Bryant, who had been afraid to recruit black players thanked the US coach for making such a thing possible for him.

As for the salaries in the NBA being too high; they used to be even higher before when rookies where receiving $74 million contracts as Chris Weber did. They changed the NBA salary structure to control rookier salaries... Up to that point, the NBA had no financial problems... As long as white people thought they were watching the best, they were willing to watch. The thing that has done the NBA in is the loss to international teams. If you were here when the US was defeated at the 2004 Olympics, you would have read a thread where I predicted financial woes for the NBA for losing to white teams..

White people simply do not respect the NBA as before... It is not that the salaries just jumped last year...

One look at the EPL,championship,1,or 2 proves that blacks will shine if giving a chance in western europe. I wont even mention the African and arab cesspool that is Ligue 1 and 2.

Even in places like Italy and eastern europe they will straight up tell you "we dont like you because you are a blackie" In America they pussyfoot around the issue. Make up some bullshit like "You are a thug" or "classless" to explain why they dont like you. Jozy altidore has two bad touches, and to american commentators hes had a horrible game. This is what blacks on the USMNT have to deal with, and that is nowhere near the bus that was thrown at Demarcus Beasely when he was not fit and senor nepotism kept on playing him.

Im not saying every team is racist, but if you know your team is racist against you how can you still support them.

"Us"? You are from Malagasy...or so you say. But that is not important. The US is an average team. Why do you deserve more credit than that, for surviving Slovenia and Algeria, and benefitting from Robert Green's incompetence?

Wow, this is an improvement for you.

"The US is an average team."

Giving us way more credit than we deserve, but I like the progression on your part. Well done lad.

99% of the time that US goal from the England game that Green conceded could've been save. You can't front DJ, the US team had a hard ass time getting out of THE easiest group in the tournament. They were average.

I've never experienced the straight up racist outburts or innuendo that you're suggesting amongst US soccer fans so maybe I fail to see where you're coming from.

I've been to US soccer camps across the country, and the amount of black, Spanish, Asian, kids playing the game is ridiculous. Our national team had housed, Latin, African, Asian, South American talent for years and in rcent years, we've toned down on it a bit, but we'll get back to that soon enough.

I don't buy into the racism deal too much because there's enough of it in the world, but as I said before, I don't see the racism deal the way you may.

Homey, I said he's givning us more credit than we deserve.

He called us average. In my eyes, were below average.

I gave him kudos for a moment because he usually comes in here berrating anything American.

I rather know who hates me than have people prance around the issue. Ever since Obama became President, America's true colors are leaking through. People are blaming Jozy Altidore(who is just 20) for the loss against Ghana. At least he created some opportunities. No one saying shit about the sorry ass defenders.

I dont believe for one second Sunil or any of the other top US soccer people are racist, but they are only a product of their nation.

I did USF and IMG summer camps, and the kids there came from all backgrounds. The fact remains that everyone was sheltered, and when it came for showtime the whiter faces were pushed towards the mainstream. They need support, and you get it by appealing to the mainstream.Even when it comes to the blacks, the quiet foreigner is more appealing than the black middle class kid from southern cali.

Ive heard US soccer analyst clown Altidores first touch, fitness, and many other things that you wont hear about Donovan when he has a bad game. Alitodre was even called lazy after a certain loss in Mexico last year:rolleyes:

Bornstein fucks up in the back...but its Gooch who needs to be benched for playing bad:smh:

A wolf cant remain in sheeps clothing for long

That is the wrong perception Americans have against me because I like to talk trash about American music. Yet I am one of the strongest supporters of the Afghan war... The problem may be that people with priviledge resent being talked to the way they talk to everyone else..

Why

The US fans dont like blacks...so you almost got a balotelli thing going on supporting the usmnt.

Come on. There is no way to compare the position of the black players on the US team to that of Balotelli. Are there racist elements that support US soccer? yes. But to compare the treatment that Balotelli gets to that received by any of the US players is incorrect. Everyone on this board knows Im not a fan of US Soccer, but they are miles ahead of Italy and many other European countries when it comes to overt acts of racism.

Because it isnt the peoples sport...But when it gets their attention they quickly show their italian-esque ways

The people's sports in the US are football, basketball and baseball. All of which have way more blacks in power positions than in any football league in England, Spain, Germany et al. You would be an idiot to deny that there are issues of race in America, but to compare America's races issues to those of Italy, Spain, etc. is crazy. I think that Balotelli, Eto'o and every other Euro based black athlete would prefer to overcome the subtle racism that exists in the US than be greeted with monkey chants from 60,000 people at a stadium or have racist banners unveiled at matches.

In football there are still talks about whether blacks are "Smart" enough to play quarterback:smh:
Racism in baseball is so numerous it does not even deserve to be spoken about, and basketball is constantly trying to whiten up.

Just because whites dont verbally abuse blacks from the stands(although this happens in the MLS) does not mean racism isnt here.
