"You see what just happened? They should've had me out there"

really?

everytime i see those live games on espn

the stadiums are always half empty

their is a game today on espn

ill see if the attendance looks better

really its location. Seattle and Toronto stays packed. They plan on expanding to Montreal and two other cities till they reach a full table.Since last year the MLS actually net a profit. Their building soccer stadiums too. Might build one in St. Louis

You know, I was thinking about this as I've watched them. They don't seem to have the crisp precision of some of the other teams.

When I used to play soccer as a teen, my league used to invite Brazilians, Spanish, Italians etc. over to play and their technical skill was so much better than ours it was embarrassing. I mean there were those of use who could compete... but these guys were so ahead of us in terms of skill and team play it was sad. That's why I always preferred playing with those guys. England, as I stated before don't focus on the technical aspect of the game. It's all strength and aggression. No flair etc.

Fofget teh stadiums for now.

We have players in other countries becoming technically skilled before they could barely run.

At age 5-8 these players are already scouted by big clubs in Europe.

It has to be seen as a career choice..........

They want to bring a second team to the NY/NJ area.

ok thats cool

they built a brand new soccer stadium in my city too

but they didnt allow our team to join(rochester rhinos) the mls even though we regularly beat them during cup events

The structure of the game has to change.

Gulati and lalas etal is trying to keep it a white sport but still try to win on the world stage.

really?

Is there a reason why Adu was not chosen on the American team?

Where are the creative players?

:smh::smh::smh:

This is a legit point. Youths are not going to gravitate towards something they do not feel comfortable with.

Has to be about country first, fuck the race thing.........

Donovan on the biggest stage of his career, after rescuing the US team from elimination blows a kiss to his ex-wife and is calling her talking about reconciliation.

really?

In a World Cup this ninja is thinking about ex-pussy

:lol::lol::lol:

:smh::smh::smh:

I'm taking bets right now. Germany isn't going to make it past the final 8 and you heard it here first. Argentina is going to whoop that ass

c/s Germany's defense is suspect, with that said...England is garbage, w/o a 40 yo goalkeeper that game could have been 6-1 easy...

I still think that soccer needs to shake the perception here in the U.S., that's it just a white preppy sport.

They need a team actually IN NY. I think that would be big

Well they Wilpons (owners of the NY Mets) said they would like to get a MLS team. I just question how they can manage the field w/ a baseball team and soccer club sharing it @ the same time.

I get what you're saying about one actually being in NY, but I mean the Red Bull are right there. Ppl can make it out for the Jets & Giants, and its what a 20 min train ride from Penn Station to the Medowlands.

mls needs a 2nd division, u cant structure footie like all your other american sports u gotta have hungry teams fighting to get into the league and shitty teams getting relegated

they actually have one. The USL is its second league. But they would need to make relegation

It's not so much about the MLS expansion.

It's about the clubs creating feeder programs from 5yrs old all the way to the senior teams.

Also the MLS coaches are fucked up, it seems every suburban white guy think that they can coach soccer.

I have some co-workers who do a hachet job as soccer coaches.

The US needs some foreign coaches and a system of scouts.........

I think anyone who has a talented child should videotape and put that shit on youtube.

They getting the dirt dug out of Donovan

Report: U.K. woman may claim to be carrying Donovan's baby
»Updated Jun 27, 2010 10:05 AM ET
U.S. soccer star Landon Donovan may not be as squeaky clean as he seems, according to a Sports Illustrated report on Sunday that says he may have a love child.

It said a report set to run in a British tabloid quotes a U.K. woman who claims to be carrying Donovan's child.

"I was informed of the possibility during the World Cup, and if I need to take responsibility, then I will provide the appropriate support," Donovan told SI.com. He added that he would not further comment on the "private matter."

Donovan and his "Rules of Engagement" actress wife, Bianca Kajlich, have been separated for nearly a year but are not divorced and do not have any children. The news may still be jarring, however, as reports Thursday said the couple may be getting back together.

After scoring the late winning goal against Algeria, Donovan blew a kiss to Kajlich during a sideline interview. Sources close to the couple later said it would not come as a surprise "if Landon and Bianca were back together very soon," according to People magazine.

A separate Sunday report in Britain's News of the World said Donovan, who scored three goals for the United States in the World Cup, may be abandoning his home team, L.A. Galaxy, in favor of the English Premier League's Everton.

The 28-year-old played for the northern England team for three months last season.

"There's always a chance of him coming back, but it's a question of what L.A. Galaxy want," the paper quoted an insider as saying.

the usl is like the minors of the msl though

thats where are team plays

but we still kick the msl ass every time they come into town

but they wont let us join since our new stadium only holds 13k

thats a stupid fucking rule

Micah Richardson, Ashley Young, Adam Johnson to name a few...but they need seasoning

NO.

he Was one the hyped english players, now barely plays for city and was one of the reasons england didnt qualify for euro 08. u did see the russia away game right.

i thought walcott and young was both possibly gna start 1 year ago on the L/R wing in the world cup.. oh well :/

I agree with the big bolded part. If you saw the the posted I made on the previous page where I quoted myself, I said the same thing.

The thing is is that the building of athletes is so different here in the US than anywhere. For majority of the sports here, the sort of minor league/feeder system is @ the college level. From there you get scouted and viewed and then move on to the professional level. By that time a person could be in their mid-20s starting out as a pro.

Then you look @ foreign countries and they are being viewed and scouted at a much younger age. Where they could be in their teens playing professionally.

Time for the Messi show. As long as he touches the ball good things happen for Argentina. The players just gotta let him do his thing and they can feed off of his scraps and havoc he causes for the defense.
