***Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread***

Gotta agree with that...I dont like the machines being able to tell us everything. What would there be to talk about if we had those?

So you'd rather have lives, careers, and legacys destroyed so you can reminisce and talk about botched calls?:smh:

I truly don't understand the mentality of some fans sometimes. It's 2010. FUCK not getting a call right. We're not talking about JUDGMENT calls, we're talking about using replay to get cut and dry calls RIGHT.

There are two problems:

1. It will introduce unnecessary stops in the game

Celebrations such as the Ghanaian team dance, a slide into the corner, celebrating with fans average 1:30 secs. I'm a junior video editor, and I can edit and reloop a tape in less than 1 min. Professionals at studios across the planet are trained to reloop in this time, or less. You'd actually save time with video replay, and get the call right.

2. Video technology will favour the wealthy who can afford technology.

Technology is the abilty to broadcast the match. Tape is tape. It's not about the technology more than it is a second pair of eyes.

Leave things the way they are...

The world changes. Football changes. If we left football alone, then we'd be playing with a leather beach volleyball looking thing and goalkeepers would have no gloves.

Nike markets their boots for their weightlessness, and speed.

Adidas has scientifically engineered footballs.

Technology is alive and well in the modern game.

Once upon a time, there were no substitutes allowed, no indication of stoppage time and you could pass back to the goalkeeeper all day long without being penalised by a free-kick. I appreciate that there is a lot of tradition in football

But, the game needs to progress

:lol: what has Donovan ever did to be "hated" on?

ride the bench in Germany?
score two goals for Everton?
be a "STAR" for MLS?

dude is bitch and a prima donna. Other us players have had more success but since they are not as marketable ("white"), they are not pushed as superstars in the same way he is. 35 year old beckham came to LA took his shine and he acted like a 18 year old hs bitch. :smh:

How is Donovan a prima donna? He's the ideal team player on the pitch for the USA, and his club teams. He's not selfish with the ball, and finds opportunities to score whether it's him or not.

Ask Jack Rodwell.

His early stint in Germany may have been a bust, but he's proved he can hang in England even if it was a short run. Ask David Moyes, and he'd have Landon back on Merseyside in a heartbeat.

As for the success of other US players, who in particular are you talking about?

Hey England: You've adopted our music, styles, and even our dances, and that's cool. But y'all fucking up adopting our defense! :smh::lol:

Probably about Dempsey, since he got to the Europa League final(first for an American in Europe).

Village football....Gerrard like a villager ran leisurely thinking the defense would save him...but the Nazi had the numbers...

 That bitch is singing
