I hate Drake. There, I said it.

Nah bro... as corny as I think Drake is I can't just sit there and act like he hasnt been on a come up for a while. Dude put out several mixtapes with some solid content before even getting on with Wayne and them. He had a following from TV which helped but as far as he and J Cole going head to head, nah.

Jay-z has purposely held J Cole back to let the Drake fever run its course. Now that he's dropped his album, you'll see J Cole getting the green light. They may bump heads in the future but they definitely werent jockeying for the top spot before. It was Drakes time and now Cole is about to get his.

me either. and i was a big supporter beforehand. his new shit caters strictly to women now so i'll delete most of the new album, keep rockin my old mixtapes from last summer and wish the man the best.

I honestly think people are just hungry for another artist to "jump out the box". I believe that the guy that wrote that article used to be a Drake fan...but then Drake went the "money route" and it hurt his feelings. If I were him i would just do what i do....listen to the old stuff....underground hip hop, etc. Hip Hop Heads actually have options......and the tru hip hop heads are aware of this; but some would rather just bitch about a system that wont be changing anytime soon.

So you shouldn't be true to your craft? There are plenty of artists that are true to the music and far from broke.

Who says he isn't "true to his craft?" By whose standards? He's not an eccentric philosopher. He's an entertainer. You want him to be something other than what he actually (very successfully) is. Makes no sense. Dude's doing everything right (for himself and his audience), and the rap snobs are bitching as usual as if he owes them something.

You're giving Jay the ceo a lot of credit here...time will tell. J opened up for Jay during the BP3 college tour & he ripped it in Austin. I'd like to see dude get some burn.
