Why doesnt Chris Tucker do more movies?

I said Ratner was the "homeboy," which is why he was appropriate for Tucker.

 You know what you said. 'Chris Tucker wouldn't have come anywhere near Money Talks (or Rush Hour) if old buddy/homeboy Ratner hadn't hooked him up'. Just admit your wrong, everything else you're saying is just distraction.

He's supposedly doing a film called Mr. S: My Life with Frank Sinatra this year. Did you guys know that Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker were going to star in Lethal Weapon 4, replacing Danny Glover and Mel Gibson?

Will consistently makes what Chris made for the Rush Hour series. There is no excuse.

will considers himself a serious actor. tucker is a comedian who was on the come up. has nothing to do with him making excuses. he got the money and ran. nuthin wrong with that

Where can I watch some of chris's stand-up? Edit: nm did a youtube search lol

And he's not making $10-25M either.

(Is Brett Ratner his sugar daddy?? He made his career and keeps on taking care of him.)

Blunt you got that one twisted.

Chris Tucker is the one that got Brett Ratner "Put on" with directing movies. When the original director left the movie MONEY TALKS. Chris called the studio and told them he knew a cool white boy that should direct the movie.

Brett had worked with Chris on the Heavy D, video and the two got along well.

So I think Brett just continues to work with a guy that GOT HIM PUT ON.... and works well with.

ALL BIG TIME HOLLYWOOD directors have their "favorite" actors that they work with often.

You can't even comprehend your own quotes. Russell Simmons is the one who RECOMMENDED Ratner for the job (since he was familiar with his "urban" video work), not Chris Tucker (who had no clout and was still only known to Def Jam types).

Ratner used his knowledge of Chris Tucker's work to get the most out of him and to turn a B-movie into a surprise hit. Ratner has directed countless hits without Tucker, while Tucker has done nothing productive without Ratner. Chicken or the egg?

OK WHAT ABOUT THESE.... RATNER had nothing to do with these.

I remember an interview he did a while ago saying that he was basically chillin and enjoying life.

but seriously he has done only 2 movies since 1998 (rush hour 2 and rush hour 3). He made a shit load of movie from rush hour ($20,000,000) and rush hour 3($25,000,000 + 20% back end gross). He got a bently and like 3 houses everywhere. But dam i guess hes really content with that cause he doesnt even have any more movies lined up.

Because he became a one-note player. If he had continued to develop his acting skills (he does have some, as evidenced in "Dead Presidents"), he would still be working.

After his deal fell through to make 00 SOUL (think a black James Bond with tons of funny one liners)
with Mariah Carey fell through he got a bit disenchanted making films, and stuck with the Rush Hour series

Chris Tucker wouldn't have come anywhere near Money Talks (or Rush Hour) if old buddy/homeboy Ratner hadn't hooked him up. No one in Hollywood had a clue who he was, let alone whether or not he could carry a film. They still don't know about the latter if Ratner and Chan aren't involved.

Not true. I worked on Money Talks and Brett replaced the first director who was fired. Chris had already been cast. Although he like many black comics, knew Brett from his work with urban music videos.

Yes.

Of course he was, he was an executive producer. I don't know where Blunt got that from.

Could it be that he gained about 60 pound since Rush Hour3. Image is everything in Hollywood, so unless he wants in on the Big Momma franchise, he better get to a gym.

because chris tucker put hiself in a position that majority of actors havent put their selves in. he came into the game found a niche, negotiated a top fee, got paid the top fee, now he doesnt need to work. $20million + per film for the same film 2 different times, why make more when you dont need to work, just do the films you want to.

Damn. Just like that ANOTHER Blunt ownage

I heard Chris Tucker got himself BLACKBALLED from the industry because of his ego and outsized salary demands after Rush Hour 2.

They felt he got too big for his britches, so the industry at large ICED his ass. No roles, no scripts, no reads, no look sees. Nothing.

Just like Wesley Snipes before him, he's been benched.

There probably is some of that. The difference being Wes can act and can always find work or make work through his production company. Tucker executive producer "Money Talks" but he hasn't been nearly as active on that front either. If no one will hire you, make your own.

maybe cuz his acting is mad fucking corny, him and mike epps fell the fuck off, mike epps is cool and funny in movies but have u seen dudes stand up? terrible!

The Real Reason is Chris Tucker is a functional Illiterate, meaning he can't read and comprehend well enough to memorize a script. All of his Jacky Chang movies are what is describe as off the cuff. He ad libs makes up the lines as he goes. Cant do that in most movies. That greatly limits his choices of movies. So he did the next best thing cash in on those Rush hour movies and chill
