:hmm:
football defense means that your are not playing a good game and the attacking team can score any moment

exactly, only Italy get the props for defending

everyone else just means ur not attacking good enough and hanging in there. canavaro said himself that "they aint spain, portugal or brasil, but they cant defend like us". basically.

i want anyone but france to qualify from this group. how u gonna have diaby on there (even though he was prob there best player Today) and not have Nasri in the squad at least? yes for that reason i say fuck them.

Elephant causes traffic jam

RUSTENBURG, South Africa -- Forget getting past England. The U.S. soccer team has to get past the elephants first.

The U.S. team was delayed on its way to its training session Friday night by a hungry elephant snacking on a tree.

After four minutes, the elephant moved to the side of the road and the team continued on to Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

It was the second elephant interruption of the day for the U.S. men. Earlier in the afternoon, a bus carrying 10 players on their way to an open-air market at the entrance to the team hotel got stuck behind an elephant, spokesman Michael Kammarman said.

The congestion occurred outside the Bakubung Bush Lodge in Rustenberg. Players timed the trip to get back to the hotel in time for the start of the World Cup opener between South Africa and Mexico.

Signs outside the hotel warn: "ELEPHANTS COME CLOSE TO OUR FENCE KEEP A DISTANCE OF 30 METERS AND PLEASE BE QUIET."

And then there's this: "BABOONS ARE DANGEROUS -- PLEASE KEEP CLEAR OF THEM AND DO NOT FEED THEM."

It wasn't clear if the same elephant caused both delays.

I hope that Nigeria can give the Argentinians a bloody nose tomorrow

Shit, I shoulda been clearer. It was the save against the blast from Dos Santos in the 60 min or so. Tha ball was headin into the top right, and he got up there somethin serious to keep it out.

Thanks for these tho.

You must be a Mexican because all you have are Mexican gifs. The quality of the African league is that South Africa would not have been in this world cup were they not the hosts...

Uruguay killin France on D

It was not Uruguay killing France on D. It was the French midfield being bereft of ideas. Put Giovani Dos Santos or even Pienaar in the French midfield, this France team becomes a different animal. The truth of the matter is that the Ribery experiment has failed. The bugger has no vision in midfield, all he has is speed. He is a winger, and nothing more. The sad thing is that his crossing left much to be desired. The other side of this crap is that Domenech lacked aggression and should have removed some people right after half time. The French defense was stout. Anelka never had any service so we will never know. The fact that Domenech stacked the midfield with so many people may be a tacit concession of the weakness of his midfielders.

This is what I see. France will run through Mexico because of their discipline in defence, the willingness of their midfielders to contest Mexican passing. French speed will kill the slow Mexican defence. Mexico is tailor made for France, being a poor man's Brazil. South Africa faces an unpredictable foe in Uruguay. If Perreira calls for more slow shit, he could play into the hands of Uruguay. The consolatation to South Africa is that the menace of Giovani Dos Santos will not be there in the Uruguayan midfield.

I see France destroying South Africa. South Africa will negate their own pace by adopting slow Brazilian football. On the other hand, France will have the speed to match South Africa, the discipline in defence to snuff out the indecisive South African attack. The battle will be in midfield where Tshabalala and Pienar and Parker may give France moments of concern...

I see France squeaking through, with Uruguay and South Africa fighting for the other place.. Mexico goes home, which is a shame because Giovani Dos Santos was clearly the player of the day in both games today..
