Got a man here saying Magic Johnson was better than Micheal Jordan WHo agrees?

say it with me.....THAN, THAN, THAN!!!!! not then!!!:hmm:

:smh:

Half of bgol doesn't know 3rd grade english. I don't even waste my time anymore. I've gotten so tired of correcting sentences like: "It's worst then that" and idiocy of that nature, fuck it.

Bird and Magic dont concede shit. They are telling the damn truth...Jordan was a better basketball player and completely transformative. He changed the game man.

Jordan didn't "transform" shit. He was a BIG scorer, clutch player and strong defender in a watered-down league. By his last title there were 29 teams. His first didn't come until there were 27 teams. Magic's first title came in a league of 22 and his last came in a league of 23.

You think that because you dont understand basketball.

Jordan completely broke the mold of needing a great big man to win a title. Please name all the teams previous to Jordan and the Bulls that won titles without a great big man. I will be waiting.

Jordan was the most dominant post player in the league by far during the second half of his career.

You are hilarious. Because I remember debating this with you when you were knocking MAGIC and I had to post his rookie performance in the FINALS to kill your argument.

He also won his first title with in my opinion, the great center in the history of the game.

after the first retirement...with the HIV..

But this shit is hilarious though.

I had a big debate with Blunt in a Magic vs John Stockton thread and he was saying Stockon >>>> Magic in lots of categories...and now he is talking this shit. Blunt is the ultimate sophist.

Privately, in their own circles, they talked shit to each other. But PUBLICLY, Earvin Johnson has always been a humble man when talking about his own basketball abilities. Past and present and probably future. To me this is what separates him from Jordan. When your shit is correct, ain't no need to blow your own trumpet or make speeches shitting on your friends to try to make yourself look better

and for my own record, I don't argue either way. These comparisons are stupid IMHO. I would only tell you whom I would prefer on my squad. And that would be EJ

I agree. However, Jordan (up until his retirement speech) had NEVER made any statements about his greatness. Even in the retirement speech, he was just saying what motivated him. Actually, he has never said anything about the GOAT statements made about him other than..

Ive never played against all the other all-time greats like Wilt, etc so it not fair to make any qualitative statements about ranking them or putting me over them.

BTW. Even though I personally think Jordan was a greater player than Magic... I wouldnt even knock anyone for taking Magic first...

Dude could play all 5 positions on the court. I mean..dude started in the finals as a center as a ROOKIE and dropped 42....sick :smh::smh:

Naw fam, I got what she meant. I remember the exact day Magic retired. I'm looking at the Magic that MJ faced in the Finals. He had solid numbers that season, but I think he was in his 12th season. That means he would've been good for about 18 total seasons. I doubt it with all of the wear and tear over the years, especially at his position.

I knew the Bulls were going to win that series. He thoroughly dominated that L.A. backcourt.

EDIT: Also, blunt tends to be all over the place. It just depends on what day and thread. Some kats you can take seriously on here. Blunt isn't one of them.

Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player to ever live.

Jordan is the reason Kobe Bryant is my favorite basketball player. Jordan was the blue-print for a lot of shit you see in a lot of dudes games today. Athletic guards - who come a dime a dozen nowadays - almost always have SOMETHING from Jordan in their games even if they do not know it.

Stop this bullshit.

Someone may surpass him in sheer statistical productivity, but to do that AND win six or more rings will be a task for that ass.:lol::lol:

How many teams in NBA history have three-repeated? :smh::smh: Well, dude put together two three-peat's. Hell, Kobe get's props from me for putting together two three-peat APPEARANCES in his career...

...but MJ won every time he appeared in the FINALS.

I'm not saying their will NEVER be another dude greater than Mike, but he will literally have to have no life. That's how great of a player Jordan was.

Man, I was a young kat, but I remember that game. I was a huge Dr. J fan. Needless to say, I was pissed.

Great performance.

Yeah.. .LA stole game one but it wasnt really even competitive after that.

Blunt is funny as hell... Blunt just like to argue because Blunt will be on two different sides of an argument depending on the thread.

I hated the Lakers but I think I most enjoyed watching Magic and the showtime lakers man of all the great teams (not saying they were the best but I most enjoyed them).... nothing better than seeing Magic on the fast break with Worthy and Scott on the wing and magic would throw one of those pretty no-look passes

but when he did that shit to my pistons i would be like :(

In '97 when them 12s came out and the back read "Quality Inspired by the Greatest Player Ever": I'm pretty sure he could have told them not to put that on there. Me & my niggas were like :hmm: @ that statement.

Yes, he did. Check out his last full season. He was still in his prime.

19.4 PPG, 12.5 APG and 2nd in the MVP vote.

Get it???

No, I don't get it. Magic had a good season statistically, but by that time was past his prime, in comparison to Jordan. I know you're a complete stats whore since you have to solely rely on google, but anyone knows that. Magic and L.A. didn't have a chance. I knew the Bulls would sweep after losing the first game. They were our weakest opponent in the Finals. Primarily due to aging stars and injuries. So, it's doubtful imo that he had another "good" 5 or 6 FULL seasons in him.

You're really an idiot. The Stockton discussion was about pure PGs. Stockton was superior in many of the fundamental categories required for that position, but OVERALL Johnson was a freak and did a greater variety of things than any other guard, save for "The Big O."

Of all the idiotic things you've said, that may be the most. Magic had a GREAT year at 31, and would've likely played until he was 40 (just like Jordan and Kareem). He showed no signs of slowing down, and even if he did, that wouldn't have stopped him.

MJ was ready for prime time, but the rest of the Bulls were nervous. I think Horace Grant had 6 points in the first game. Jordan could've determined a different outcome on that last shot attempt.

As far as blunt, I don't take THEM seriously.

Imo, Magic was a part of the best team i've ever seen play. I've never liked them, because I have always been an eastern conference fan. Chicago, Philadelphia, NY, Detroit, etc.

As a floor general, imo, he was the best ever. Zeek is my favorite all-around point tho.

Playing until and having 5 or 6 good years left are two entirely different things. Maybe someday you'll figure that out. Good luck with that. :smh:

I don't consider Jordan's or Kareem's last years to be "good years" using the bar i'm sure they'd set for themselves.

Btw, go to either google or basketball reference and you'll see that Jordan was off for a bit of time during his career.

In '97 when them 12s came out and the back read "Quality Inspired by the Greatest Player Ever": I'm pretty sure he could have told them not to put that on there. Me & my niggas were like :hmm: @ that statement.

Ok. I will walk my statement back then. I hasnt seen those shoes. I had just remembered when he had been personally asked about the goat statement several times.

So you think coming off an MVP-quality season he was gonna go rapidly downhill and be through by age 35??? What evidence was there of that?? That's a rhetorical question. The answer is obvious.

I don't consider Jordan's or Kareem's last years to be "good years" using the bar i'm sure they'd set for themselves.

Jordan's last "real" year was at age 35, and he won the MVP!!! I think Magic would've been just as competitive at that age, if not moreso.

Even Jordan's last two throwaway years at ages 39 and 40 were competative and productive, and that's after a long break. Johnson wouldn't have taken any breaks.

You are the idiot and the inept sophist. I knew exactly what your argument was and there is no way you could put Magic over Jordan if you completely believed all the bullshit you had in that thread....ESPECIALLY about the qualitative differences between the two players (which we debated) and it is not even a comparison. Stockton doesnt even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Magic Johnson win it comes to LEADING a team, big game performances, etc.

Please stay on topic, that being that Magic would've had another good 5 or 6 years in him. Do I believe this? The answer is, NO.

I think you know i'm referring to his time in Washington. I don't consider it to be good by Jordan standards. Others, definitely, but not MJ standards. I still have the Sports Illustrated issue titled "Michael Vs Magic." Who in your opinion was clearly the better player at the time?

Both were great players and brought different things to the game.
I don't think it is correct to say one is better than the other. Jordan was a better one on one player and Magic was a better team player.

What bothers me is how Jordan is placed on top of the basketball mountain and other greats are placed not even close.

Basketball is a team sport. It is difficult to say who the G.O.A.T. is. People who laugh at comparing Magic to Jordan are ignorant in my opinion. Both brought something different things to the game.

@ different things They both were better than one another. Overall Player, Jordan was. Defense & Offense, able to take over a Game, Jordan. Magic could control a Game from the start & determine most of the time which direction the game would go end. Magic was a better Passer & Rebounder. Who would i want on My Team, Jordan no doubt. He does way more than Play Basketball. He's a money Making Machine in many areas.

You mean he's a money making machine for Nike right? How the hell does Tiger become a billionaire before Jordan. Tiger signs his first deal with Nike in 1996, Jordan in 1984.

You are the idiot and the inept sophist.

You should look that word up before you use it. You're not bright enough to throw it around.

That's absurd.

You just changed the terms of the argument. Typical loser move.

This is getting old blunt. If there was ever a premise-changing poster, it is you. You do is so much that you are guilty of trolling. You even post irrelevant trolling pics in threads. Come on, Son.:lol::lol:
