Jordan was better. But, if i am starting a franchise, Magic is my first pick. he can fill any position on the floor at a HOF level.
Not really. There are only 4 or 5 reasonable choices.
I'm biased
But I bet you half of the people screaming Jordan, barely even saw either one of them play
I can't even take that question serious, so I'm just going to laugh. I'll slap a motherfucker with a dry pack of top ramen noodles asking me some shit like that.

Is not 4 or 5 a multitude of choices?
Magic Johnson:
- Better floor leader by virtue of him being a PG. He could run the offense vs. having the offense run thru him.
- Better passer. Top-10 in NBA history
- More flexible. He knew how to play all 5 positions.
Michael Jordan:
- Better everything else.
Michael Jordan is a once in a generation kind of athelete. Once people accept this fact, this stupid petty comparison will end.
If I was starting a team, I'd pick magic first.
No. It's barely a handful.
Multitude= Large number
even Magic says Mike was better than him...
because he's being humble. That's his personality and the way he played the game. Always playing his own accomplishments DOWN and hoisting his teammates UP. Truth is if Magic took the number of shots that his contemporaries took, his career PPG average would easily be around 25PPG or better. But point were never the priority for him that they were for Jordan
Again, it's not like they're gonna hype themselves. Jordan won a bunch of scoring titles and the most championships in recent memory, but he never came as close to AVERAGING a triple-double for a season as Magic did and he never won a championship in a 22-team league.
Magic Is The Best Basketball Player Ever. It Didn't Matter What Coach He Had, What Teammates He Had, Or Who He Was Facing, He Was Gonna Win. His Basketball Iq Is By Far Greater Then Most That Have Played The Game. Jordan Could Not Have Won With Out Phil Coaching Him. You Could Not Put Mike On Any Team And They Could Win A Championship, But I Bet Magic Could. Jordan Won Nothing Until Phil Came And Put The Right Players Around Him. Now As I See It, Until Mike Can Come From Winning The College Championship, Then Win The Nba Championship The Next Year And Play All 5 Positions As Did The Star Of The Team Got Injured (kareem), Then I Will Say That He Is Better Then Magic!!!! Magic Was Never Theat Fast Nor Could Jump Out The Gym, But You Still Couldn't Stop Him From Doing What He Wanted To Do. I'm Pretty Sure He Could Have Led The League In Scoring If He Wanted To, Cuz The Guards Were To Small And The Forwards Were To Slow.
magic johnson was a better player...michael jordan da best shooting guard ever.
for the OP, no contest. michael jordan.
earvin johnson accomplished A LOT. A WHOLE LOT.
but michael jordan is the FIRST PLAYER IN BASKETBALL HISTORY to destroy a canon of basketball. not refute or repudiate it (like rick barry), but THOROUGHLY OBLITERATE a canon of modern basketball.
Still not a topic of debate. I mean how can anyone even say Magic was better the MJ. It is not even close.Ok. But you can still have a discussion of what player was better, regardless of the type. Who brought more to your team.
Kobe and Lebron are two different type of players and we debate that on bgol all day.
Man they aint hearing you. MJ was scoring 32 a night with the hand check rule.Come on, Son. It has nothing to do them picking themselves or picking someone by default. Magic Johnson has seen more basketball from every era than you and I could even hope to. He played with Kareem....who I think there is a legitimate case as the GOAT...however, he would be able to more able to distinguish between them having having not only playing against Thomas, Bird, etc... but having played with another all-time great like Kareem
Fuck outta here with these cats picking Jordan by default.
Man they aint hearing you. MJ was scoring 32 a night with the hand check rule. Now you imagine what he would score now if he played without the hand check rule.
I mean are these guys really serious saying that Magic was a better passer and had better floor vision...I would hope so because he was a point guard. The biggest difference was that MJ was unstoppable. MJ hit crazy shots from all angles consistently.
Their is no hand-check rule because everyone nowadays is bigger, faster, and stronger and possess fewer basketball skills. If these the rules weren't changed to manufacture points out of thin air, nowadays the scores would rarely top 100.

Magic could do things Jordan couldn't even dream of doing? NIgga please....It's no crime to think so. Johnson was a one-of-kind baller who could do things Jordan couldn't even dream of doing, and he played in a much tougher league at his peak.
because he's being humble.
