*********Official Lakers vs. Celtics NBA Finals Thread********

Leon Powe is 6'8" 240. Big Baby is 6'9" 295.

Powe may play some at pf but no way he's playing back-up center.
Amma keep it real with you ... I fact checked before I posted cause you came outta nowhere talking bout Powe and Big Baby played COMPLETELY different positiions and they do NOT. Powe did a lot of things and also backed up Perkins at Center check the stats
if you say so. but i know in a final series against 3 7 footers, i wouldnt want a player who can hit the outside shot, post up, and knock down 3's, getting suspended because he cant control his temper, or because he thought a bad call was made. He thinks he's the only player get called for bs fouls? but hey, thats just me.
So you agree that AT THE END OF THE DAY Rasheed is the better player right? or no?
PJ Brown is a better player for "Bostons system" than Rasheed because Brown was a role player, knew he was a role player and knew what his role was unlike Rasheed. Boston already has all the shooters they need so they need a player that's gonna "stay in the box" to defend and rebound. With PJ you had that 100% but with Wallace you get 40% of that with the other 60% of his play involving him floating to the outside looking for his shot and arguing with the ref about calls
Please stop the Madness :hmm:

PF in the NBA today hardly "stay in the box" hell only a few CENTERS still play exclusively down low

Also boston Doesn't have all the "shooters they need" they lost one of the most accurate shooters in the LEAGUE when Eddie house left and Wallace is an EXCELLENT replacement for PJ Brown/posey/House ...

Sure Wallace seems like a headcase at times but he is just being militant that's why they hate him he's a smart cat that walks around with Egyptian Symbols on his clothes and Jewelry ignores the celebrity side of the NBA and just wants to PLAY...........and the league HATES that

So now you saying that "ONE" Rasheed Wallace is doing/capable of doing the things that "THREE" people did in 2008? Now that's madness. His attitude barely allows him to play one role so three is completely out of the question

Skip Bayless is that you?

Rasheed is one of the most well rounded players in this era...obviously he is just ONE person but the best parts of those three I named he has covered APPROPRIATELY enough from a personnel stand point

Him and Glenn Davis ARE the boston bench

Tell me he is not:
An Excellent outside and high post shooter off the bench
A Solid Defense big man to back up Perkins when needed off the bench

He is playing PHENOMONALLY in the the playoffs you blinded by hate :smh:

When LAKERS win that second game Sunday night, You mufuckas know that the series is officially over right? I can't wait to see the responses (or lack there of) from you Boston dickriders and LAKER HATERS!!!!! The muthafuckin SAGA continues...

If Boston wins their home games it is back to square one :dunno:

I'll take boston in 6

depends on the situation and team? is kobe better than lebron? no, but in certain situations, you would want kobe on your team, right?

I can definitely agree with this.

I have mixed feelings on Rasheed, but there was already a long thread about Rasheed so I wont take this thread off-course.

That's true, but I just don't know what else Kobe has to do to prove he's the greatest player in the game right now.
c/s

this is coming from two boston fans btw...

imo the Lebron vs Kobe debate is about 5 years too early :smh:
ok, and i answered your question, didnt i? to ask if someone is better than someone else is a broad question.

Yeah GENERALLY speaking.... but we are talking about PJ BROWN

So you can't say who is better Rondo or Tony Allen either??

Come on man up for me one time and speak your mind

i did speak my mind. i already explained in what situations i would prefer to have pj brown on my team. what more can i say.

and to ask who is better rondo or tony allen, i think the answer is obvious. who's starting? now if you said tony allen and nate robinson, thats different.

:

P.J. was a very good interior defender and banged on the boards. Against the Lakers, that is they type of player you need to deal with Gasol and Bynum.

The problem with Rasheed (and I know this from him giving me headaches when he played for the Pistons) is that he can play like an all-star at times and then at other teams just be a waste of space on both ends of the floor. Rasheed is good on the ball defender WHEN he actually gives a damn.

At least with P.J, you knew game in and game out that you were going to have you tough low-post defender and rebounder.

I picked Boston in 7 but there is no question that Rasheed doesnt make up for their loses or Powe, P.J. Brown, etc... they have lost some toughness and mobility

obviously every player has strengths and weaknesses but you are unable to come to a decision as to who is better right?

So just to be clear you don't know who is the better NBA player between RASHEED WALLACE and PJ BROWN right?

Just saying fam

I don't wanna put words in your mouth but that's what I am reading.....

Wow if I said the Sun was yellow I bet you would say it was gray huh?

Can't we just all get along? :dunno:

wtf:confused::confused::confused:
of course every player has strengths and weaknesses. and i pointed them out to you already. i never said i dont know who is the better player. i gave my opinion on the 2 players and their roles while playing with boston. All around player is rasheed, obviously. PJ did not put up the scoring numbers that rasheed did. That wasnt his role. Just like right now, its not Rasheeds role to score.

The problem is that the statement would be inverted.

I have agreed or disagreed with several people in this thread. But if you disagree with anything Ive stated in the reply, you can address it...otherwise...

Sheed is the superior player no doubt, but on this squad...PJ Brown contributed more. Boston is like the Steelers, they play a certain style of ball & they get players that fill roles based upon that style. To this point, PJ played the reserve role better than Sheed. Sheed hasn't banged since the 04 Finals...if he plays in the paint maybe you can say he's an upgrade, but he camps out at the 3 pt line on offense & spends way too much time swiping and arguing calls on the defensive end to replace the toughness PJ Brown brought.

Powe is a better player than Davis, easily.

Exactly. This should be very obvious.

Celtics NBA Finals Thread********

fuck it.

seems like people just want to tip toe around the subject, so i'll throw my 2 cents in and just say it.

if we're choosing between 2008 pj brown and 2010 rasheed wallace on THIS celtics squad, i'm taking 2008 pj brown all day every day.

and BTW, if anyone believes that glen davis is 6'9", you need to buy yourself a ticket and see the players up close.

Thank you. Big baby is just a rolly polly fat ass. Sheed ain't played in the box in 5-6 years. Dumb ass, he still has one of the best low post shots in the game, but he'd rather shoot 3's and shit. :smh::smh:
