why was this not a simple "play on" situation? in a game rife with bad officiating (both ways) this was hardly a highlight.

the penalty for flopping is that the opponent gets a momentary 5 on 4 situation.

No, the rule is, flopping is a foul. The right call was made.

as soon as i saw joe crawford as one of the refs, i felt like turning the game.

here is the entire official rule book.

please cite the foul for "flopping". or better yet, what is the hand signal that an official makes when recording a "flop" at the scorer's table?

http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/.element/pdf/2.0/sect/officiating/Official_NBA_Rule_Rook_09-10.pdf

no PF is necessary. the momentary advantage gained by a player "flopping" is sufficient penalty.

the only problem is that there is no penalty for officials who are deceived by "flops".

*sigh*

Don't play dumb, you follow basketball, are you really gonna make me google it for you?

Much fuss was made about this new rule prior to this season (or last). I just know you remember that, but if you don't I'll find the articles for you.

i think you are confusing FINES with FOULS.

but show me anyway.

Funny part is, that was a foul on Howard last series & JVG would say because of the arm extension. It was funny seeing KG get that call & head to the line.

I'm still amazed that the foul was called Gasol:confused:

Re: Celtics NBA Finals Thread********

it's funny as hell how gif makers are water-marking their shit these days.

so many people biting their work on other forums and all.

Did you hear J A Adande talk about the Chris Rock Kobe with the white hat Gif on PTI?

People steal all the time now.

c'mon playa.

flopping ain't a foul. it is NOT in the nba rule book for game officiating. in fact, the guys calling the game for abc last night commented that it SHOULD be made into a rule so when a player flops, he gets called for a foul.

it doesn't exist as of now though

i'm not even sure i know what PTI is, much less watched/listened to it.

but i mentioned in the original thread that those pics are a rip off of an old grace jones set.

ESPN talking head shit. I thought you might watch to laugh at Tony Kornheiser.

mentally or physcially? other than that charlie ward incident, PJ Brown is a pretty level headed player.
basketball wise rasheed is better than PJ brown...dman near everything you cxan do on the court...might not be able to bench as much as borwn but what is YOUR point?? :hmm:
PJ is a tougher inside presence than Rasheed Miller. Can't really compare Big Baby to Leon Powe, two completely different positions. Big Baby isn't even an inside guy so the Celtics lose major toughness inside not having PJ Brown. KG of 2008 is gone.

The biggest person missing you didn't even mention, James Posey. He's a long defender that Kobe used to have problems with. The Celtics no longer have that guy. Toney Allen is no James Posey.

Big baby and Powe play two different positions?? really? Help me out cause I thought they both played power forward and back up center roles when needed but let me know fam

PJ brown didn't even play that much to be an impact player iirc...he was putting up Finley minutes

You sound scared bottom line ....cause guarding Kobe Bryant is not and will never be the problem...your defender just has to stop him from becoming a playmaker but if you aren't double teaming him doesn't matter that much either

LA is VERY beatable....Boston is a way better TEAM

They played like trash last night but they have been letting early calls shut them off all playoffs long...I have been critical of it too but LA can't lose on Sunday :itsawrap:

my point is, rasheed, is not mentally better than pj brown, a player who knew his role on both miami and boston. he did what was asked of him, and did not pick up stupid techs (charlie ward incident aside) just for the heck of it.

miss me with that you got to "play nice nonsense"

no one is gonna put PJ in the hall of fame for not getting techs lol

End of the day rasheed is an improvement on PJ Brown I don't care if he eats puppies for breakfast ....

Rasheed is tha better basketball player phycially AND mentally (bball IQ) and THAT'S what we talking.....right??

Besides after a while Rasheed got techs for looking at people...:smh:

I don't know if Gasol really flopped. If you saw the replay from the side. You can plainly see that KG elbowed Gasol in the chin.

if you say so. but i know in a final series against 3 7 footers, i wouldnt want a player who can hit the outside shot, post up, and knock down 3's, getting suspended because he cant control his temper, or because he thought a bad call was made. He thinks he's the only player get called for bs fouls? but hey, thats just me.

Leon Powe is 6'8" 240. Big Baby is 6'9" 295.

Powe may play some at pf but no way he's playing back-up center.

What happened to that dude Beeeii that made the thread with 2 pages worth of "BOSTON kicking LA in the ass" pics?

Pistons didn't even get one good year from Rasheed. They got a half season. A short enough time for them to win a championship and for Rasheed to not mess up a good situation.

PJ Brown is a better player for "Bostons system" than Rasheed because Brown was a role player, knew he was a role player and knew what his role was unlike Rasheed. Boston already has all the shooters they need so they need a player that's gonna "stay in the box" to defend and rebound. With PJ you had that 100% but with Wallace you get 40% of that with the other 60% of his play involving him floating to the outside looking for his shot and arguing with the ref about calls
