SURE THATS ONLY 6 MILES, LOTS OF PEOPLE EXCEED THAT BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS. Years ago I ran 6 miles a day but all at once. Now, its just to the BBQ grill and back or the fridge, but I'm an old fart. Tell you one thing.... DONT DONT DONT run that kind of mileage on concrete or asphalt or youll pay the price like I did.... 2 knee surgeries and arthritis. Run on dirt, grass or sand.

2 miles on a bike is a joke. You're wasting your time. Try 2 miles running instead. You should be biking 20-30 miles.

ill be biking it. i heard that and a raw food, fish diet will melt the blubber off of you.

I biked about 12 miles today...Jogging is bad on the knees but if you can do..do it...if you want a real cardio-workout swim for an hour and do about 50 laps

I just did a century on Friday, 117.5 miles. I'd have to agree that 2 miles on a bike is pretty light, but I have no idea where you are right now physically. If you only plan to do 2 miles, I'd say find the steepest hill you can find and bike it everyday. If not, at least start out with 5 miles or more. Also, I'd stay away from the fad diets. Just try to eat 4 to 5 small healthy meals through out the day starting with breakfast. Good luck with whatever you end up doing.

Dont know about the guy who said that he rides 100 miles a day BUT in the Tour de France they average 105 miles a day with some days being up to 140 miles, so dont say its impossible cause its not, but whether some dude on BGOL rides like that is subject to your own suspicions.

I'm sorry, but The Tour de France comment proves the level of fuckery rife in this comment. You know how long a stage in the Tour is? Its more than 10hrs. So please, for the love of Ray J, please tell me how the fuck will a dude with a job find time to do 100 a day, work, eat and sleep. I'll be over here in the corner with my snifter of Port waiting for the bullshit.

I made a map just to illustrate the point

Somebody gonna come in here talking about they rode they bike alll the way to Brazil and bagged mad bitches...and on the way back they did a wheelie across the ocean and shit...

I don't ride 100 miles a day. I rode 117.5 miles on Friday. I'm stationed in Germany and I rode from Stuttgart to Heidelberg via the Neckar River (not that the last part really means anything to anyone in the states). Normally I ride anywhere from 12 to 20 miles on the weekdays because I commute to work by bike. Over the weekend I try to get a long ride in. I planned the Heidelberg ride a couple of weeks before I rode it. I can post pics that I took during the ride if it is really that serious.

Back when I was competing...anywhere from 3-15 miles per day (usually somewhere between 30-80 miles per week depending on the season)

Now I'm lucky if I get in 15 mpw.

i doubt i could ride an exercise bike that far,,, not because i would get tired, but because i would get bored,,, it helps me to ride through the city because there is a constant change of scenery & people,,, give me my ipod & i can ride all day,,, also helps me sleep damn good when i get home at night

I bike to work everyday that it doesn't rain about 12 miles one way. My only advice is watch these drivers they do not pay attention to shyt!!!!

I not only believe you, but I even know where exactly in Germany your talkin about. I was stationed in Ansbach 91-94. I live in Texas now where people in the local bike club routinely do century rides. Bicyclist's here and across the border even do 24 hour endurance rides off-road on mountain bikes. I run Monday's, Wednesday's, Friday's a minimum of 3.25 miles, and 5 to 7 miles on Saturday's. I ride my Road bike 25-30 miles every other Sunday morning, and Mountain bike 14-17 miles on opposite Sunday's. Last Tuesday I ran a 16:06 two mile for my PT test (I'm 43). I honestly could have run a little faster (I had plenty left in the tank). I work full time and have more than enough time to accomplish this. So I say to the original poster. Start somewhere, make time, increase the intensity, and keep it up. You will improve in more ways then one. Good luck!!

You don't like accurate info? A bike is easy, and requires a lot more work to get the workout of a treadmill/running. My girl does 20 miles on the bike daily while I run 2 miles on the treadmill 5x per week. Stop trying to fit in with simps with that troll pic. You don't know jack shit.

That was my old hang out. Is the Scala club still open? I pulled more ass out of that place than the law allows.

I ran 4-5 miles every other day and play soccer twice a week. I cosign the knee problems, I'm in my mid-30s and sometimes I can already feel the pain but after running the first mile, I'm good. I wonder about my old years though.
One thing about running, it does increase your stamina a lot and helps me with the soccer. I'm signed up for a half marathon in July and prolly train for a marathon next year.
Good luck to all you runners/bikers!
