Run? Damn let's see I run down the steps to get to my car in the morning I normally run to stop the door cause them CACs be letting that shit close on purpose and not hold the door for your ass. Shit, i'mma say a few yards no lie.

Funny you mention bike, I'm getting ready to go cop me one of these Friday and go race them lil kids I be seeing in the park.

You must be trying to strengthen your heart, cause you won't be burning much fat with your heart rate that high. A 120-125 heart rate is ideal for burning fat.

I let my gym membership expire: I'm looking for a more affordable gym. But before I did, about a month ago, after workouts I ran/jogged 2 miles a day on the treadmill. It would take a little over 16 minutes, on a good day, to do that distance--I hate running. On Thursdays and Saturdays when I was trying to step-up my cardio I'd run/jog 3 miles on the treadmill in about 25 minutes. Like I said, I'm not a runner. But I feel that unless your training for an event, or something, running those distances in that amount of time is good enough. I do admit, however, that I probably should be running 7 minutes miles at my age instead of 8 minute miles.

I started running 2 miles a day lately. I bike maybe 6, 10 or 20 when I'm off

biking 2 miles is a run to the grocery store

SURE THATS ONLY 6 MILES, LOTS OF PEOPLE EXCEED THAT BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS. Years ago I ran 6 miles a day but all at once. Now, its just to the BBQ grill and back or the fridge, but I'm an old fart. Tell you one thing.... DONT DONT DONT run that kind of mileage on concrete or asphalt or youll pay the price like I did.... 2 knee surgeries and arthritis. Run on dirt, grass or sand.

Sound advice. I realized that running in the Army would've worn my knees out. If it wasn't for othrotics, I probably wouldn't be able to have pulled 3 miles easy. I'm going to try to get back into mountain biking. I've got a nice Giant that I hardly ride. It's summer time though...

you guys are saying you run 6 miles but at what speed? 42 minutes or 56 minutes is pretty good

2.5 Miles Biking daily, and basic exercise ie push ups, sit up, deep knee bend and lunges for 25min you will lose 7-10lbs a week.

Whatever you do, don't listen to him. He has no clue what he's talking abuot. Nobody on this planet is losing 7-10lbs biking only 2.5 miles and doing some measly situps and pushups. :smh::smh::smh:

I'm sorry, but The Tour de France comment proves the level of fuckery rife in this comment. You know how long a stage in the Tour is? Its more than 10hrs. So please, :lol:for the love of Ray J:lol:, please tell me how the fuck will a dude with a job find time to do 100 a day, work, eat and sleep. I'll be over here in the corner with my snifter of Port waiting for the bullshit.

I made a map just to illustrate the point

Bro, you talking that blubber talk since BGOL 2004

Do something, anything will help someone in your condition.

Put the chips on the top kitchen shelf and the salsa in the bottom drawer of the fridge...... 1 squat

Get 1 chip and 1 dip

Repeat as necessary

Anything Bro......

Pro runners do 100 miles a week easy

I am looking into getting a bike too

100 miles on a bike is very doable in under 10 hrs

and 20-30 a day is normal training iirc

man, im about to step it up. i want to know whats realistic. i can do about 2 miles on the bike without a problem. I want to workup to doing a 5k a day and after a few months, 5k first thing and 5k before bed. is this realistic?

You can do 2 miles... on a bike????
Are you 75 years old or 600lbs?

i love this thing

This is probably faster than the shit I'm gonna get but if we had a race I guarantee my BMX would beat that in a heart beat if it ain't a straight race without turns. That bike is good for workout and long races but if we were to race in a city bruh.......... :itsawrap: you're donzo.

You can't do all this shit with that bike it's too heavy so by time you turn one corner i'm already around there not even pedaling fast just jumping over shit. :smh::smh::smh:

I do no less than 5 miles a day on the streets or treadmill during a hour session. 30 minutes, I do little more than 5K.

no disrespect but you have no clue as to what you're talking about.

I usually run/jog like 4 times a week at least 5 miles each run. I did my first half-marathon last summer (13.1 mile race). I trained 2 months for that - I built up to 7.5 miles each run - 4 times a week and one long run on the weekend of 10 miles. Marathon training has got me in the best shape ever. I highly recommend it to anyone whos serious about getting into shape and or losing weight.

And dont listen to cats saying you'll fuck your knees up if you run on pavement etc etc...Yeah its not ideal to run on those surfaces, but if you train properly and get the right running shoes for your foot type, you'll be fine. Most people start out running and do too much too soon (running too fast or too long and too frequently) and yeah you'll fuck yourself up that way. Most people also do not invest in a good pair of running shoes. The most important part of avoiding injuries related to road running is getting the right pair of shoes based on your foot type and building up your mileage slowly. I train primarily on pavement and sometimes concrete. I also mix up the routine by cross training on the elliptical or treadmill in the gym. But if you have access to a nice park it is less stressful on your joints to run on grass and/or dirt. I used to play basketball everyday for years on blacktop and my knees started to get fucked up bad. But now I've been running and doing marathons and my knees and legs have gotten tremendously strong. I hardly ever have any knee issues whatsoever.

Remember start slow, build up slow, and get the right type of shoes for your foot type and you'll be good to go.
