Well said! Public education is so f-ed up now. Teachers are being furloughed, government is taking over schools which requires the firing of all staff, and resources are limited. The state of Georgia cut about 2 billion from its educuation budget and NY 1.1 billion. That's insane!
Students will be sitting in classes with 35+ students and eating sack lunches next year. So Im all for the "Ed Forum". Leave No Child Left Behind.. Behind!

Would you be interested in an Education Forum?
There are valuable existing threads and other contributors who are willing to drop more stuff but if it has to be buried under the 15 dayers and gossip threads, how useful do they become.
We have a unique opportunity to reach a wider audience and we cannot be so entertained to not be able to handle the serious side of life.
There is a Comic Forum, a Photography Forum, a Movie Forum
Are we that scared of Education?

You jokin' right? Do a search for Cyba and see the threads that I've started. 90% of the threads I've started are full of educational material. Shit I even started a CCNA study thread and helped start the stock study thread.
Don't get me started fam ... I got a real estate investor thread and a tax lein thread filled with tutorials that I wrote myself based on my own experiences. I was giving dudes real estate leads and all they had to give me was they zip codes. (If you knew what you was doing each lead was worth minimum 3k). Let's not forget the get online money threads ... I must've made several hundred dollars off of the referrals from ONE online program.

The problem is finding those threads, its like looking for a needle in a haystack.
With an Education Forum we can move all those threads into one location and aggregate the information by topic.
I'm excited and as you said we cannot under-estimate the power of education...........

e.g
Cyba already has a CCNA thread where the books, simulation software etc is posted and members set a schedule and go through the prep supporting each other until certifications.
Other certified members drop insights to the exams etc....
it's a lot of possibilities for progress.....
It will also contain programming tutorial threads.
JDWalker already has a thread on learning PHP but it's lost in the main board madness.
There are also threads on Wordpress, creating a website from templates etc.... that are lost in the madness.

So if when this "education forum" is created and when you realize that most of your attendees will be crickets, what will be your complaint after that?

You're lobbying for a education forum. While I understand why, you won't succeed because of your audience. If HNIC makes an educational sub forum, and WHEN it fails, what will be your argument after that?

You all have a point.
DIY, ebooks and ?? are already sub-forums that would be included in an education thread. Why not take any of those or all of them and combine them into an education forum. The hard part will be to find the JDWALKER and WORDPRESS and JOB INTERVIEW and PHILLY and OWL and KAYA threads and put them in there.
I think this is the best idea right here. I would go for a sub-forum too.
I said that a long time ago.
I'd love a education forum...especially being that I'm trying to intake all info on becoming a real estate broker.
