Would you be interested in an Education Forum?

There are valuable existing threads and other contributors who are willing to drop more stuff but if it has to be buried under the 15 dayers and gossip threads, how useful do they become.

We have a unique opportunity to reach a wider audience and we cannot be so entertained to not be able to handle the serious side of life.

There is a Comic Forum, a Photography Forum, a Movie Forum

Are we that scared of Education?

Just drop a vote so we can gauge interest.

Of course asking a mod to make this poll a sticky may be an exercise in futility, we shall see...............

I'm all for it if we're also going to talk about the impact of a high school education in local school districts. Take it to the money piece of the budget process in suburban, urban, and rural districts. How all of this is tied together and affects property taxes, community development, etc... I'd like to see it go to another level.

You should ask "Is an Education Forum necessary on BGOL?" Different question, less slanted. You also made it public. This way, people will not want to vote against it for fear of being labeled anti-education. You knew what you were doing when you made it. There are scholarship opportunities people post that are relegated to the back pages because of 15 dayers and Drake threads............

There are posters with kids who could benefit from scholarship info, people who would like to change careers, people who would like to become certified in something, internship opportunities etc.....

Not a bad idea. I have been looking for education software for myself as well as friends and family members and it's a lot to sift through all the threads on the main board to find many of the posts. Stuff like Medical Field Training software and children education.

What was created in the past has no bearing on the current. Comic book was created to keep illegal shit off the main forum and to post old copywrighted shit.

Again, saying you are INTERESTED and saying something is NECESSARY are two different things. I would be INTERESTED in learning to kill a nigga with a karate chop, but it's not NECESSARY. I would be interested in attending a seminar, but it's not NECESSARY that I do. I'm not against education, I'm against another forum that will die in the next months.

It's tough some days cause that's my nature.

I get pissed when these Indians I work with put each other on and the blacks try to act like "I'm the first". We have to get over that shit. The people I have put on and mentored are in different places and are now part of my network that provide me with project leads. I would like to do the same on this board especially in Telecom where there are a lot of opportunities available.

Some people feel having a degree is enough, if you don't know anyone, if you have no network, you will still have to settle for crumbs some of the time.
