***** OFFICIAL STRIKEFORCE NASHVILLE thread - Sat. April 17th - Henderson/Shields

that eye looks terrible and there goes the fight with dude losing that point

They were comparing Mousasi to Machia. I don't know about that now. Some even said that Mousasi could be Anderson Silva.

yooooooooooooooooooooooo

I have never seen someone hide between their opponents knees to avoid being hit

:roflmao:

mo's wrestling is tight as fuck

props to him

gegard could finish him standing but mo drops him

I am sorta dissapointed in mousasi. he is gassed too. King mo is gonna lay and pray his way to a belt. Dude is a warrior though, i will give him that. Lets see if he takes it,

watch out for the robbery

great fight

very weird

mousasi played himself by allowing it to stay on the ground early

oh shit King Mo pulled off one of the biggest upsets I've seen in MMA.
He just basically outwrestled Mousasi & that point deduction was the icing on the caka. He did gas and got his face smashed in but he did enough to win imo.

gassed a little - he was still hitting mo hard and he definitely has a good chin but mo's wrestling was too good

if mousasi came out with a higher motor trying to strike more he may have done some shit differently
it looked like there were a ton of subs there for him but I think Mo is crazy strong and he couldnt control him enough to pull off any armbars or triangles

he earned that shit and his face is showing it

i dont think i would want to feel like the winner though because if pure damage was the scoring he'd be a loser

 @ csi

damn man that was just 1 championship fight of the night. We have 2 more championship fights/undercard Mayhem Miller fight.

Damn - Mousasi's reign was short-lived (haven't watched the fight yet, but reading ya'lls comments here).

I was wondering how well he'd fare ... as SOUKAJU gave him a run for his money in late-2009, and we all (especially my crew) make fun of Soukaju alot ... but he looked good in there as well against Mousasi.

Good thing about dudes like Mousasi (24yo) and King Mo (7 fights total now) is that they've both got many years to go/grow

I know a few dudes that train with MO and al tell me that he regularly handles some big names in training. He is outstanding in wrestling, explosive and strong as hell.Strong guys take a hell of alot of energy out of you, especially when they are on top.Its hard as hell to strike when you fight a good wrestler with a god chin because if you fully commit to your strikes then you'll get taken down.

I'm hoping Aoki can pull off this next fight, then I'm 2 for 2. For those who don't know, Aoki is a beast.

バカ サバイーバ BAY BAY!

Aoki doesnt have a good chin... Can he pull it off and cripple/choke out melendez?

Mo is obviuosly a great wrestler. But I never saw anyone take such damage in dominant position.

thats because the way we're scoring this is kinda wack
yeah he took mousasi down at will but he also got smashed
he had some periods of good striking but if you had that fight broken up in the street you'd say mo lost

im a damage guy but i still gave it to mo and i feel weird about that
I think some of those shots that didnt seem to hurt mousasi in the 3rd actually hurt him

He fought hard, he doesnt deserve to get booed.

cosign that was weak

but how soukaju made that a good fight was different than his style in other fights - he used his judo more and seemed to have a better ground game
i still view that as soukaju getting better but i think mousasi has some holes in his game
takedown defense
striking output
ring control
he could have kicked mo to death if he had tdd

i thought for a minute this was some fedor shit and he was gonna armbar mo but nah
still kinda like wtf at mousasi's game plan

Asian fighters don't win MMA matches...all this time we've been told they can kick so much ass, and it's a lie. :smh:

But seriously, I have yet to see a japanese fighter win outside of Pride...and Lyoto is Brazillian so he don't count.

he's too damn raw

he has a lot, i mean a lot to learn

 @ the Mo hate after he decisively beat Mousassi. Look, no one is saying he's a perfect fighter, but give the brother his due. He just won the championship by beating one of the top guys in that weight class who has much more experience.

where does he train?
yeah i wondered if he hurt mous or just wore him out wrestling - mousasi got the best of the ground but the takedowns look bad and score and he did some good things standing
Yeah cant kick the shit out of a wrestler who will shoot soon as he sees it coming

Japanese fighters have a bad reputation. They always seem weak. lets see what happens..........
