This is where you are wrong. Artie and Jamie are both comedians, and Artie is a far easier target to pick apart than Jamie. I would actually like it more if Artie were still around. I think Jamie would destroy that guy on a tit for tat back and forth forum. Arties element is shock comedy which pushes the envelope in a format where he isnt challenged of forced to think on his feet or go blow for blow with a quick thinker. Jamie is far better at that sort of thing. He would fucking destroy Artie.

I find disturbed people like Artie to be interesting, that's why I had to check back in... I had a debate with a friend at the time about his seriousness-- My friend insisted that "if you want to kill yourself, you'll find a way to get the job done where nobody will come in and discover you." I'm don't think you can be so certain and stabbing yourself in the chest/stomach a half a dozen times is a hell of a way to get attention (especially if there's no guarantee somebody will find you in time).

BTW, I'd compare this to exchange we had regarding ESPN because Howard is obviously racist (I wouldn't say hateful, which most people assume is a necessary part of the term), much more so than ESPN I'd say, but I find him entertaining, so I listen. (Not like he gains from me downloading his show, anyway.) I guess you could say the difference is that you see ESPN as hateful, though I don't know how you feel about Stern and his racism or lack of racism.

We disagree about ESPN... One quick aside, though-- You said no self-respecting black person would watch ESPN; would you say the same of the NFL and NCAA, which you call racist institutions above?

The thing with Howard is, you say you "call some white people cracka." He racially judges every single black person he comes across. With Gabourey Sidibe, she was "the most enormous black girl ever," with black obviously as another negative descriptor. Or with Monique recently, discussing her marriage arrangement with Pikestreet, Howard did an imitation of her husband and, as he does with every single black person he hasn't heard speak, the husband sounded like he was straight out of a nineteenth century cotton field.

I don't think he hates black people, but he does seem to think less of black people in general. Maybe he's open enough for particular black people to earn his respect, like Robin, Chris Rock, or Obama but I consider him to be racist because if he doesn't know shit about you, he'll look at you and imagine you speaking like a black crow wearing a hat in one of those old racist cartoons.

I'm particularly sick of this "equal opportunity offender" label I hear so much-- maybe everybody is targeted but the treatment is far from equal.
