True.
At one point Kitty was the heart of the X-Men.
Her character showed the softer side of the X-Men:
Girlfriend to Peter
Sidekick to Logan
Surrogate Child to Xaiver
Big Sister to The New Mutants
Little Sister to Storm
Her character was there to breath life into the X-Men. Especially when Byrne wrote her stories because he based her on a real Katherine Pryde.
It just depends on if the writer knew that she should be used for more than her powers
I thought her "death" was unnecessary and lazy on the writers part.
that new shit Nemesis was tighttttt as fuckkkkk![]()

*I keep saying and writing BOB when I mean BILL...Hard to fight this programming.*
Because he got muscled out early.
Bob Kane was commissioned to make a new superhero to cash in on the Superman success.
Story is that he took some 'Flash Gordon' comic art and drafted over it a dark like character like Zorro. Finger took that rough sketch and made 'The Batman' you know today. He made him a detective, designed the cowl, gloves, belt (CSI Kit) and made the cape wrap around him like 'Sherlock Holmes.'
When Bob Kane submitted his work he never credited Finger with the work he did. National Comics aka DC Comics hired Finger as a writer from Kane's verbal acknowledgement. Finger created the origin from real police cases and went on to write for DC for the late 30's to the late 50's...Bob was a perfectionist though and he had several delays because he wanted Batman to have a real authentic crime grit feel in his early career....then go into the adventures of space and sci-fi as seen on 'Batman: The Brave And The Bold.'
Finger wanted Batman to be like Zorro, Sherlock and Teddy Roosevelt. He also wanted him to be a legacy hero and not an immortal hero.
Superman was suppose to be the immortal hero (DC had no plans of making him pass on his mantle) and Batman be the human that passes on a tradition of fighting crime, defending the innocent and being of the people. (Originally, DC was going to go this route)
Bob Kane got more coverage because he was a more outgoing person. While, Finger was more private and shy.
In many interviews throughout the years, Bob Kane was asked how did he come up with 'The Batman' storyline...Every interview he added and changed around details.

Speaking on Batman, Dick Giordano just passed. He was a colorer/penciler on the Silver Age Batman and some other characters for DC. I was a boy when I read my very first Batman book. Remember the cover vividly. There was this skeleton character who was holding Batman by his wrists and was trying to push him into a freshly dug grave with a head stone that said " Batman R.I.P." The fear on Bat's face was clearly visible and his hands were shaking. Robin was just off in the backround. Not sure if Giordano did that cover but I do remember his work with Neal Adams on Batman.

But seriously
I almost want them to just shut down the hulk series completely..
fuck it let em all die including his son that's on his way to earth
For those of you interested in the story of who originally created Batman...
Here is a a stream LINK to one of the latest episode of 'Batman: The Brave And The Bold'
It pays homage to an older origin story and also adds elements to it to pay respects to Bill Finger and Bob Kane.
Bob Kane's costume for Batman is worn by his father who is voiced by Adam West. Bill Finger's costume is used in the earlier shots of Bruce's training and first Batman costume.
Extremely, well made episode that has now marked this series as a must watch for me.
