Why buy a Mac? In 1 image

yeah, i don't think people have realized that Macs have come down a lot in price. Apple still has the real expensive stuff but you can get a MBP with good specs at a nice price...

You ain't lying, that Mac Pro is

I'm still waiting for divine to say what he's running those 7 OS's on....

I'm still undecided on whether I'll go with a laptop (MBP) or a desktop (iMac), but it's good to see both are in my price range with powerful enough specs for me.

As Divine said, no. If you wanted to get a desktop though with the same specs minus the Blu-Ray and with a Displayport Out instead of HDMI you could get an iMac for $500.00USD less.

Nah, I have a mac Tower already. I just wanted to replace my laptop with an apple that did the same things. I guess I'll bite the bullet and get my sister to use her teachers discount and get the pro.

is it worth 270 bucks to get the 3.0 ghz chip?

is it cheaper to slang the 4 gigs that come with it and buy 8 online?

Also, I want a SSD, I can just buy an aftermarket one and clone OSX on it, right?

I like Apple, but if i can save a couple of bucks doing some of this shit myself, I will.

I put the youtube video (featuring the iPad) in the resource hog Vista since my Ubuntu was was installing a shit load of new updates at the time :-)

Don't have to explain it to me. Ubuntu is like that with new installs especially with the new 9.10 Karmic. Your graphic shows how well Microsoft Windows and Linux Ubuntu can run on almost any hardware sufficiently via Parallels Software.

It is the one thing OSX cannot do, which is sad in a technological sense for the "most advanced operating system". 'Preciate the time and work divine. Looks awesome.

You can use HDMI using the MBP's display port. There's been rumors that the next MBP models will have bluray but none currently...

Cool. The Blueray isn't a deal breaker for me. I have a PS3 and my HP has one so I'm cool.

I'm just at the point where I like the OS, and the flexibility of being able to have XP on the same machine. I can dual boot my HP, but being able to complile/edit PLC programs, and still have my main OS open is nice.

Most of the programs on these rigs don't even work on Vista and i hate carrying two laptops. (my netbook has XP)

i use a display port to dvi-d adapter and a dvi to hdmi cable
i download 1080p video and watch it on my 50in with the laptop or wd hdtv
you can cop an external bluray drive for 150 bucks

Cool. I'll just cop a 17" macbook pro and head back here for the software. I just liked having the blueray built in. I guess I'll start ripping them and converting to the Mk format.

This muthafucka Divine should get a commission check if I take the plunge.

Couldn't I just buy a PC with the same specs and put the MAC OS on it?

Like an good pussy on an ugly girl...like putting clean clothes on a dirty body...like putting a supreme engine in a chevette. Shit gotta match up for the best benefit.
