To the best of my knowledge, what I provided was the King James translation of the text. I picked that because I've seen BigDaddyBuk insist on it in other threads recently. Why, I don't know, since it is one of the more obviously man-crafted and refutable versions, but that is why I used that version.

#1. The fact that "God cannot be tempted by evil" is irrelevant and doesn't add anything to the statement. Obviously, we are not Gods and would work on a different standard.

#2 Following point 1, you are left with When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God does not tempt anyone. That's a truism. Nobody should say God is tempting me because God doesn't tempt anyone.

#3 If God doesn't tempt anyone, why does the statement begin with the words "When tempted"??? That's totally illogical and contradictory.
 
This question is a little extreme. Along the same lines though, I want to ask: What would the returned Jesus have to do to prove himself to u believers? I mean are u really going to trust some middle eastern guy who looks nothing like the images we're accustomed to and speaks a language u don't understand. I mean dude would be like a arabic Chris Angel or some shit, we have seen a lot of amazing majic. Not to mention shit would be going down half way across the globe, imagine niggas in church watching the youtube clip with english subs. I mean even if he was the real son of god u niggas wouldn't believe him, CACs wouldn't go for that shit he would probably end up getting murked again. And then Christians would be the new Jews.

Alex, you should admit that you were wrong when you claimed "the bible doesnt say anything about god asking people to commit sins for his people."

If you acknowledge that, we can move on and I'll address your attempt to shift the standard to "find me a verse in the bible where god instructs his people to commit a homosexual act."

It is not ridiculous to "equate sacrifices to homosexuality"... Is it or is it not a commandment that "Thou shalt not kill"???

The fact that it is one of the ten commandments suggests that it is a more important law than those covering homosexuality... The equation comes with the fact that God prohibits both behaviors.

If you duck the substance of my post again, though, I'm done with you in this thread. You're free to address the points I made, however, and we can continue the discussion.

My point is that the standards of Christianity are such that all Christians are bad Christians. Just ask one-- "We're all sinners," they'll tell you. It is impossible to adhere to.

I don't think a bad Christian is necessarily an unserious Christian.

I agree with both of you, for the record. I never said I was exempt; I'm just very far from a serious Christian.

And I'm not that familiar with The Book of Revelations, but I assume I would be first on Jesus's shit list if he did come back, regardless...

As I said to Alexw, I really don't see it as a leap... A sin is a sin. If anything, killing would be the greater sin.

I understand Abraham's son was not sacrificed-- He was still asked to "sacrifice" or kill his son and willing to kill his son.

I also have encountered the idea that Mose's law does not apply to events preceding it... God does, however, instruct Israel over and over to kill other people and take their land and killing and stealing were certainly prohibited by the time of King David, though God encourages such actions at that time.

So God is still commanding "His people" to sin.

Exactly... I am secure enough in my sexuality to understand that. I honestly think the people who have the biggest problem with homosexuality and fixate on it the most are usually the ones battling inner demons.

How could anyone look at the two situations and say "Killing a child is the more minor offense, I'm far more offended by the homosexuality"???
