Your problem is your going for shock value. As an ex JW who realizes I cannot possibly explain to a current JW why That religion is a cult, you could never Convince a christian against his beliefs.
One thing I have found is I dont really want to convince others of my concepts and beliefs. You see the one thing that JW do well (or condition their adherents to do well) is break down another persons belief system.
They have meeting's and training scenarios just for the purpose of practicing how to over come peoples objections and showing them that JW's have the answer. You see once you strip away a persons learned beliefs, they have no choice but to accept yours. Logic, convincing canned arguments and a ready set answer to fill the void left makes it seem appealing.
You said that if Jesus came back and instructed his followers to do something stupid for a period of time will they? Uh duh of course they will!!! Throughout history people have killed, raped, maimed and conquered in the name of JESUS...Do you think a lil thing like sucking dick will stop someone who wants to show there devotion to their lord and savior?!?

Arguing implies an exchange in ideas which this is not. This is simply a question levied to those of a certain persuasion in order to come to a better understanding of their beliefs and their level of commitment to them.
I asked an open-ended question. Are you a Christian? If you simply answer the question honestly, I will respect your response. What I don't respect is constant deflection, running and hiding.

I don't buy into their inspiration-- yes, that would be an accurate way to put it.
You can respect Martin Luther King, for instance, or Gandhi and all of the good they accomplished on this earth without agreeing with everything they believed in or endorsing every action of the figure in question.
You can't compare figures such as these to the "God Hates Fags" crowd or the people whose religion only inspires them to focus on trivial matters. These were men of accomplishment with good hearts who I respect.
