i think the motoroi is gonna be great b/c motorola basically said all their devices going forward will be full multitouch now maybe only the blur devices or all their devices i dunno. I like the roi b/c it is like droid maybe got more power but its metal and steel.
the n1 is a fine device but i don't like it b/c it has that soft nice look all mobiles nowadays are coming with.
i just gotta say i'm looking forward to the droid 2...if moto can jump from droid to motoroi then the jump to droid 2 will be mouth watering.
The question
Honestly.. what does the Nexus have over the motoroi?
roi has nothing over nexus and nexus has nothing over roi.
each has their own differences.
the bravo blows the nexus out the water and the samsung galaxy 2 by blow all androids out the water...shit the wimax android by end the universe...
point is each phone works for you.
I had a G1 it was cool b/c of the Android. But i am not a fan of htc...so i jumped to droid and it is a better phone for me not even taking into consideration the OS.
i'mma ride with motorola android devices until i'm forced to move choose another maker.
that doesn't mean htc's arent good they are but htc is making devices to meet the market motorola was near death and pushed out an anti-market devices that has changed the android landscape. thats daring to me. htc plays it safe which is fine but i like my devices to be groundbreaking the G1 was groundbreaking then htc got artsy...turned me off.
if u like the nexus you are fine its a great devices. so will be the roi the droid 2 etc etc etc....its all android.
The question should be what does the Motoroi have over the N1. It's ridiculous that you all are saying that all the Nexus offers over the G1 and Mytouch is live wall papers.
Thats funny.
Here is something that you all might find interesting,I DONT NEED TO ROOT MY NEXUS and add a different ROM. It's fast and does the job the way that it is. The Motoroi has an 8 megapixel camera and more internal memory, that's it. I don't see how it kills the N1. You'll don't even know the price point yet and are acting like it will be cheaper then the N1.
All of this is not directed to you Uptempo but to some others on the thread.
Enjoy!!It looks like it weighs about 3 pounds too.
No need to be salty. It's still part of the Android family.
Well said Creed
I am the opposite of you. I prefer HTC products. Ive always felt comfortable with them. Although the Moto Droid has an excellent build.
roi has nothing over nexus and nexus has nothing over roi.

man i dropped my g1 a few times and it would spazz...lol...i dropped my droid and it kept going without a problem lol...i'm just a metal kinda dude....droid is just the most well built mobile devices out right now...its like the suv of the android line...nexus is the race car...the mytouches the family sedans, the hero's are the two door couples....i'm a suv person lol
Noone is saying that the Roi will trump the N1 by any means. This isnt N1 VS iPhone. All I was saying is that I dont see any REAL reason besides the speed and power of the N1 to just jump to it. True you dont have to root the N1 cause of the memory it already has. Us G1 users who spend half the time on XDA already know what the game is with the N1 so we already know you dont need to root. But rooting is for extra add-ons that dont come stock so there is more than SEVERAL reasons to root....Most are just asking for apps2SD for the newer droid phones coming out with more space.
But even yet in still your saying the N1 is FAR Superior than the previous phone. Not being disrespectful bro but can you PLEASE tell me besides livewallpapers, faster processor, larger SD support, More RAM, larger screen, does the N1 offer to ppl. Its not a game changing phone TBH cause sure the RES is much better and games run much smoother and its there to make iPhone users STFUbut what else does it offer to me to make me wanna go out and buy it.
What we are tryna say with the Roi is that it offers much more besides a faster phone. Those specs are very impressive to say the least.
In closing bro, no disrespect to you and your N1. everyone is entitled to they opinion on anything. I just like the Roi better than the N1.
We all in the same droid gang
The things that I highlighted that you wrote are huge. I believe that Nexus got an unfair shake when people said (there is nothing game chaning about it) I disagree. The processor in itself is game changing. You'll see what I am talking about when you get the Nexus or Motoroi. Flawlessness when switching between apps an multitaksking. HTC concentrated on the hardware. Sure the Nexus has 2.1 so if something game changing that blows people's mind is what poeple are looking for, then everyone should look at the Android as a whole and say, what are we changing. I believe that the Motoroi will be coming out with the same OS that the Nexus is running. The HDMI on it is very impressive and I like the 8 megapixel camera as well but I am not sure if there is anything game changing about that.
Bro, I get what you saying but other phones have THAT very same snapdragon processor. Acer Liquid, X10, upcoming HD2. And the Roi will have the same thing.
And the Roi will not run the same stock ROM as the N1. Each company varies the OS for the phone as to keep their individuality. Think the Hero for sprint and verizon, The Cliq for Tmo.
I got yo point and all im saying is that my preference for my upcoming phone is that I want the Roi cause of those features. You got the N1 for your reason and I got mine. No1 is saying the N1 isnt a good phone but after seeing those specs....it was a quick mind changer.
But its all good bruh, if i could get a N1 now I would but since i cant...i can dream
Here are the specs for both devices. Very close comparison, even down to the size and weight. Now the point I was making about the Motoroi being a thorn in the Nexus's side is this.. they both are about equal with the exception of the Motoroi having a few more features and HDMI. With that being said, if Motorola takes advantage of the high price point of the Nexus One and sells the Motoroi for cheaper that will be an issue for the Nexus One.. not to mention the couple of other kinks that the phone has had. It appears this will be a phone sold through T-Mobile so hopefully the existing customers get to take advatage of a good upgrade price.
The cost of the Nexus One was never really an issue for me. I was actually going to buy it the other night until someone on here put me on to the Motoroi, I think it was Zei. Its almost impossible not to admit that if the Motoroi undercuts or even matches the Nexus One in price that wouldnt be a blow to that device.

Think about that and can I say in the name of Android, "Can't we just all get along?"

^HTC hustled backwards with that ugly shit. Looks like a Sidekick revert.

The second Android offering from Motorola has now been launched on its second network, the Motorola Milestone was initially released on the Orange network and offered as a SIM Free and unlocked phone but now T-Mobile has managed to secure the Milestone for UK sales.
This new launch means that there are now more than double the number of pay monthly contract tariffs available for this new Motorola Android phone, this includes deals for the Milestone free on some tariffs including the T-Mobile Combi 25 tariff which for £25 line rental per month allocates 700 minutes of calls to any network at any time (including landline calls) and unlimited inclusive text messaging every month.
Considering the Motorola Milestone is well geared for internet surfing, emailing and downloading it would be wise to opt for a tariff that includes this, the T-Mobile Combi 25 + Web n Walk package offers just that for just £5 extra per month it allows for unlimited internet access making full use of the Milestone's web facilities.
An Android 2.0 phone, the Motorola Milestone is the first to feature this upgraded opertaing system. It makes for smooth running of applications as well as menu navigation and software support, preloaded is Google Maps for turn by turn navigation and there's a whole host of other Google apps. available for download from the Android market.
The Milestone features a 5.0 mega pixel camera with auto focus and a dual LED flash for low light photography, the main selling point of this latest Android phone though has to be the integration of a slide out Qwerty keyboard in such a slim frame, this makes for easy and quick text input when emailing, web browsing and texting.
The main competition to the Milestone currently resides with the recently released Google Nexus One which runs the next version of the Android OS, if price is important and you are on a tighter budget there are cheaper Android phones available in the form of the new LG GW620 which also offers a physical Qwerty keyboard whilst if this is not important then the Samsung Galaxy Spica, Acer Liquid or HTC Hero may suit.
There will also be further competition coming soon from the new Sony Ericsson X10 although the release date for this first Sony Ericsson handset has been postponed twice already and may not make it to market until early Q2 2010.
The Motorola Milestone will suit anyone who enjoys the latest mobile technology, a solid feeling phone and handy Qwerty keypad - this is a powerful handset but compact in size that will suit most pockets.
The Motorola Rio and Shadow are both suppose to have hdmi ports on them but I can't figure out why anyone would need or use it.
Why would you want, need, or use a HDMI port on a phone?
