Scarlet Witch brought something with her from the DCU to the Marvel U. The same thing that Dr. Strange was unable to detect or do anything about.
Damn.. and I just read this. I forgot that unlike the other Marvel/DC team-ups, this one is actually in continuity for both Universes...
I never read "House of M" unfortunately. I was just going on what Bendis said in Wizard recently.

Marvel had something relatively strong going...it all fell apart with the lack luster ending of WWH. From then on the books have been turds.
DC could have stolen some serious thunder from the comic industry had they played 'Blackest Night' right. Catering to casual sales is going to kill them in the long run.

The ending of WWH was probably one of the biggest jokes of all time and totally ruined all of the good work that was done rebuilding the Incredible Hulk during the wonderfully realized Planet Hulk ark.
Reverting the Hulk backwards was just about one of the stupidest concepts to come out of the so-called House of Ideas.

I can't understand how they messed the Planet Hulk/WWH storyline up. It was one of the best ones I've ever read for the hulk that fit his character perfectly. Same goes for DC & their shenanigans. Did someone come into their homes unbeknownst to them, give them all a lobotomy then drifted off with the part of their brain that controlled logic & creative thought? Makes no sense at all...

I think everyone else already hit that point in the above post and in previous threads.
BL is just soft. Nothing in it matters because 1) They are not really fighting their friends brought back from the dead...
2) The stories/cross-overs are seriously inconsistent. 3) Too many Omega/Alpha class power threats coming out of know where...with no one else in the universe being wise to that shit?I am all for some good retcon if it is subtle...but too much shit just don't add up.

The Brother Voodoo and Black Panther books are currently crap at the moment and I see neither of them getting better anytime soon unless competent writers are assigned to bring both books up to properly engaging standards.
Tony Stark was irredemably tarnished by the Civil War debacle and no amount of ret-conning will ever get me to like this character again.
Thor is a solid book with good ideas and I'm glad to see that it hasn't lost its lustre following the departre of JMS.
Similarly, all of Marvels cosmic books are doing the damn thing.

Marvel did a good job with the Dark Reign idea, the best they have had in forever IMHO. Sure they always go overboard and fuck it up in the end, but the premise is great. Maybe I'm showing my age but these are the characters I been reading since 6 or 7 y/o so I care what happens.

In its biggest development deal to date, AMC has acquired the rights to Robert Kirkman's popular comic book "The Walking Dead" for a potential series.
Frank Darabont is on board to write, direct and exec produce the project, with Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Pictures and David Alpert of Circle of Confusion also executive producing.
"Walking Dead," a monthly black-and-white comic book, has been a hotly sought-after property since it was published in 2003 by Image Comics. Darabont originally developed the project several years ago under his deal at NBC. It landed at AMC after a healthy bidding war.
"Dead" chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse where a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, travel in search of a safe, secure home. The comic explores the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies that take a toll on the survivors. Over time, they grow willing to do anything to survive, so the interpersonal conflicts sometimes present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies who roam the country.
Genre films have traditions on AMC, whose annual Fearfest horror showcase continues to be a strong draw.
But a "Dead" series would transcend the comic book genre and mesh with AMC's other drama offerings, "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad," said Joel Stillerman, senior vp original programming, production and digital content.
"I don't know of another series of books that has such beautiful storytelling, great human emotions and everything that really works on AMC," he said. "It allows us to stay where we want to stay: in the world of smart, sophisticated storytelling and apply that to a show that we think the audience would love."
Darabont, an Oscar nominee for writing "The Green Mile" and "The Shawshank Redemption," is repped by CAA.

It is but since it's about TWD...I will give you a pass.
I really hope they do the series with class and don't try to gimmick it up for short term sales.
TWD is a book about atmosphere.
The fact that it's on AMC is a huge plus for me. Breaking Bad is a very very good show. Very well written and well acted. And because it's on cable they can take it places they couldn't on regular tv. I'm really looking forward to this.
