Bad Lieutenant

peace

Never heard of it nor do I care since the original was dark, real, depressing & funny as fuck in a twisted way which was also a time piece showing how griemy shit once was;
With the Brooklyn jewish kid giving his signature rough house hard edged performance making it even more entertaining watching him teeter across the edge & back;
That & City of Angels always bring a chuckle out of me.:dunno::D

you forgot to add Abel Fararra usual twisted directing style........ala King of New York...

I Actually enjoy Harvey Kietel's acting....I use to think he could not act...But then I went back and looked at some of his early shit with Martin Scorcese......And Imo it took some skills to play the kind of roles that he has become known for....

I do agree The original was real dismal.....but something about it kept me interested....Tha's why I'm curious to see how peeps will react to any kind of reincarnation of The Original "Bad Lieutenant" by N. Cage.....

I couldn't make heads or tails of the Harvey Keitel version...and is the 90s that fuckin long ago that they doing a remake already... :smh::smh::smh:

Actually I don't think it's a remake...just a sort of "intentional coincidence"...

No Doubt;
ALWAYS appreciated that dude's acting and how he's used by his directors to do his thing;
That whole original back & forth between him & Pacino over JodiFoster in TaxiDriver still has me rolling just thinkin about it; would've still liked to see more of him in that flick and less of the director expressing his insecurities through the role using the N word but respect the realness :happymad:, scared his bitch was getting piped the fuck out :lol:

I think I could possibly see how u though Keitel wasnt nice with his as he starts out & into certain roles kinda slow & rough, but he brings that needed flavor to certain flicks.

I don't think that it is a remake. As much as Nicolas Cage can be annoying the fact that Werner Herzog is directing makes it interesting.

of course I know you meant DeNiro not Pacino.....before somebody tries to clown you......But I agree that interplay in Taxi Driver had some real edge to it....interesting that both He and Deniro were part of Scorsese original crew...from Flicks like "Mean Streets".......It's my understanding that Francis Coppola went to Scorsese and found Deniro to do Godfather 2.....
Also Coppola stated that Kietel was the original to play Martin Sheen's character in "Apocalypse Now"....so No Doubt Kietel is a much respected actor in some very heavy circles....

One other irony is that N.Cage is I believe Coppola's nephew in real life......tight little circle there.....
