I think your question needs to be looked at in more detail.
1. Not many black women on TV to begin with.
2. I think more black women on TV are not fat, but the fat ones stand out to you. Now you did say you do not have cable so that limits you. If you factor in cable, with all the black women on news channels and sports channels plus a few from network TV, you would realize most of them are not fat.
3. As someone pointed out, most are fat in real life so you can see how it would be in TV. Just as there are fat white women in TV. The real problem is not enough brown skin people on television.

I'm not gonna say that ALL the Black women on TV are fat. That's somewhat ridiculous. But if anyone watched "CBS SUNDAY MORNING" yesterday with its entire focus on obesity, it is still a major problem within our community. And it shows no trend of slowing down. One of the statistics revealed was that 35.5% of Black folks are obese. Way above Latinos and Whites.
