how about a downpayment for a house?

I fucking knew it. I was wondering why it took so long for the financial advisors to chime in.

With respect, he wasn't seeking financial advise. He was simply asking for opinion on cars amongst men.

Very tough choice, it all depends on your taste. Both cars are very nice. I like them both and it would be hard for me to choose also. Test drive both and then you'll come to a final decision.

I test drove a 335i last year and it was fun and very nice. Never driven an Infiniti but I've driven a couple of Nissan's and they were all very eager to accelerate. The response on them are great when stepping on the gas.

Here's your answer... get you hand on this issue.

BMW gauges simple and to the point.

Plus infinits make ugly steering wheels and there interior is to bubbly and childish. I like how BMW buttuns are flush mounted and dont stick out.

infinitis speedometer looks childish and will not age gracefully.

Maybe you like different things, but the Infiniti's interior is far superior to the BMW's. It's boring and isn't an upgrade over the BMW's in the 90's.

lol....I concur but go easy on them:lol:

As stated numerous times, I have an '08 Porsche Cayenne S but I need a summer car. Wife and child so it has to be a 4-seater. The Mrs. is insisting on a hard-top the BMW 335i would be cool but the MB CLK350 looks so much better to me. In addition, I like to drive fast so maybe I shouldn't have those turbos with the fam in open air. The 3 convertible is way better than the 6-series. The MB SL doesn't have enough seats. Jag convertible is a sexy beast also but not a hardtop. She may have to give up the hardtop...Opinions?

One of my friends bought a MB SL 500 another copped a 2010 MB CL63. How can I be down? To the OP, BMW all the way. I had a 745 Li and I still miss it at times but this Porsche is on another level.

if you dont want the power of the twin turbos then get the BMW 328i but they are refreshing the body style next year and a new 6 should be coming out soon but its still going to have a soft top

It's official - BMW drivers get more sex

May 01 2004 at 05:36PM

Berlin - BMW drivers have more sex than owners of any other cars and are much more active than Porsche drivers, a new German car magazine has found.

The German magazine Men's Car found in a survey of 2 253 motorists aged 20 to 50 published in its inaugural May issue that male BMW drivers say they have sex on average 2,2 times each week while Porsche drivers have sex 1,4 times per week.

Following BMW drivers were Audi (2,1), Volkswagen (1,9), Ford (1,7) and Mercedes (1,6). Drivers of foreign car makes were also behind BMW with Italian cars (2,0), French (1,9), Japanese (1,8), Swedish (1,6) and Korean cars (1,5) trailing after.

Among women, French car drivers were top with 2,1 times per week followed by Audi (2,0), Italian (2,0), and BMW (1,9) with Porsche again at the bottom of the scale at 1,2 times per week.

WOW...where did you find this article ? you do realize it refers to Germans not Americans

think about this....who has better dealer support in your town.

here in my town, the BMW dealer has a bad rap while the infinity dealer is straight....

If you buy cars based solely on dealership experience, then we should all be driving Lexus only :hmm:

thats not my point.

People around my town know that the local bmw dealer doesn't believe in a deal and never has enough loaners. The nearest competition is in New Orleans, where they keep their appointments and will make you a deal good enough to drive there to the lot.

Since most average sized towns have only 1 of each dealer, you options are limited unless you are willing to drive to another town.

Knowing that your car will be fixed in a timely manner is important when dealing with a higher end type of car.

If you are looking for performance its the 335I all day

If you are looking for style then the G37

So my answer to you is its either one or the other, I say go with the bmw and I'm an infiniti head too

Have you driven either of them? It sounds like you haven't made a decision based on looks alone, which is good. Why don't you take a test drive and see which one feels the best to you. After you know which one feels better on the road you'll be dealing with a pretty straight-forward analysis of costs and benefits of each car (reliability, customer support from dealers, engine/drive train specs)

Thats the problem with my Dealership (which happens to be the largest volumde dealer in the world) I shit you not, I went there for service on my 55K car and they wanted to give me a Kia Spectra as a loaner. Dude handed the keys to me with a straight face and everything.

Took my G in last week for an update and had the G35 sedan Loaner waiting for me in the parking lot.

But as the above post says, Drive both. Then measure the intangibles because the BMW did drive better to me. Just not enough to offset the other parts of owning a car. It may be different for you.

Keep in mind, the 09 G37 has a 7 speed transmission which is a big difference from the 5 speed in the 08's which you may end up purchasing. I wont say one is better than the other but it does make a difference.

The dealerships don't owe anyone a particular kind of car. They are courtesy cars and not replacement cars. You're lucky they didn't throw you in a van and drive you home with 10 other people.

Having said that, Nalley BMW in ATL always gives me nothing less than a 335i. I simply call the service guy, whom i have dealt with for 3 years, and tell him to call me when one is available.

Its not about what they "owe" jagu. Its about customer service. And surely a person owning aluxury vehicle would expect certain perks and considerations from the dealership when coming in for servicing.

Werd..

I have free oil changes for life on my G35 and I always get a loaner another G35 sedan 09 to be exact, but that kia spectra they was trying to push off on you was probably a rental, I know some dealsers would rather deal with rental car companies than actually give a loaner

Dude,
Right after college at worked at Enterprise Rent A Car... and worked dealership loaners at the LAND ROVER, PORSCHE, CADILLAC, LEXUS and AUDI/VW dealerships.

Any dealership you go to does not have an INFINITE supply of COMPANY BRANDED cars to loan out. They are providing a COURTSEY to you by providing a you a vehicle to begin with.

Now I know you are customer, and they are providing customer service. But give me a BREAK man!!! You have some work done on your OWN CAR, and you can't drive a rental back & forth to work????? Would you they rather put you on the shuttle???

I will say this. Out of all the dealerships that I have worked at. The people that had Cadillacs and Corvettes were the absolute worst when it came to giving loaner cars. The Porsche, and Land Rover folks were the COOLEST. I figured out why. the Cadillac and Corvette people where folks that WANTED OTHER PEOPLE to "THINK THAT THEY HAD MONEY" so they were super conscious about what type of car OTHER PEOPLE saw them in... even for just ONE DAY. The PORSCHE, and LAND ROVER folks that I would hand them a Ford Focus were cool.... because they REALLY had money... and did not NEED the car... to fuel their self-esteem.

No & No. They do HAVE to give you a loaner car. It's a part of the warranty service you get when you buy a luxury car. True, they don't HAVE to give you a comparable car, but that's exactly my point. Infiniti and Cadillac did. BMW did'nt. So my service experience with BMW was poor. I don't know what point you and Jagu are trying to make since he gets a BMW loaner every time he services his(and I did state it could just be my dealership) but the reason Porsche an Land Rover customers are okay with shitty loaners is because they are used to shitty service. Just like BMW owners can get kicked like a dog and keep coming back and pay more to do so, they can do the same.

Not me, I DON'T need a name brand and therefore have no problem getting a brand with less panache for better service. I'm not trying to diss but get from behind the enterprise counter and pretend you had a 50K plus car and then tell me you'd be okay getting pushed into a fucking KIA. I pay too much and work to hard to be rolling like that, even for a day.

Let's say you had a 50" Sony LCD go bad. Would you be okay if they gave you a 13" Konka black and white? Why not?
Lets say you had a souped up Dell XPS that went on the fritz, would you be okay with a commodore 64 for a few days? Why not?

Isn't it good customer service for them to even offer a courtesy car anyway? Most of them will try to give you a comparable car but it is not always possible, so they offer the next best economical alternative. If people really wanted comparable cars, they should ask for it in advance like I do and they won't be disappointing.

I know that customer service is important, but they also care about their bottom line by stocking just a few numbers of luxury loaner cars. I give out nice pens in my office, but I frown when people ask me for extra pens for their children:hmm:

I think the warranty says that if your car is disabled or in service for a minimum number of hours, you will be given a courtesy car but they don't promise a comparable car. People are going in for an oil change and they yell at he service advisor because he gave them a KIA. I actually saw this happen:smh:
