the other issue comes down to engine mechanics. The BMW has to strap on turbos to get to 300HP, while the G37 is a naturally aspirated G37 330HP. From a maintenance POV, thats less engine issues from a naturally aspirated engine than from one with strap/add ons, even from the manufacturer. The G has proven itself a hell of a vehicle at a hell of a value.

yes I want a sports coupe and my brother already has a 5 series, thats why I really like the way BMW's are built. however Infiniti comes standard with alot of options
Well the 3series is promoted and sold as a sports coupe but in my opinion its nothing more than an overpriced entry level 2door b'mer. An ideal ride for preppy fags, and working class ho's. Personally i wouldnt be caught dead in one but thats me. But in terms of customer service and warrantied maintenance, you wont do better than a BMW. Infiniti is a distant second, followed closely by everyone else. If thats what you like then get it. Just dont be mad if i see you in the streets and call you a homo. Skinny jeans optional:yes:

DId you watch the video, after 2 hot laps the BMW damn near shut down because of cooling issues, WTF?!?! A track car shutting down because the turbo's got hot WTF?!?!?! Say what you will, but that proved the reliability issue right up front.

BMW gauges simple and to the point.

Plus infinits make ugly steering wheels and there interior is to bubbly and childish. I like how BMW buttuns are flush mounted and dont stick out.

infinitis speedometer looks childish and will not age gracefully.

That he did. And thats a perfect example of people seeing the same thing but seeing it differently. Its all preference. I dont see how one would prefer that dated and bland console and dash over the Infiniti. They've made no significant changes in over a decade (and i admit that may actually appeal to some). Out of all the accolades i would give to BMW, that aint one. Personal taste i guess.

From an enthusiast standpoint, the 335i is the better car. Driving dynamics on both have gotten great reviews, but the BMW usually edges of the competition for overall feel. But really the main reason, I'd pick the BMW, is the fact that a simple chip tune can put this car close to 400hp and if you add other bolt on likes exhaust, testpipe, etc 400+ is easily doable. I'd take the last gen G35 before I drove the new.

you do know there is a 1 series now

Just made this very decision. I came out of a 2007 530I and wanted a sports car. Test drove both, priced both and chose the G37s.
If I only was concerned about driving it hard, I would have chosen the 335I.

But after dealing with BMW's ridiculously archaic I-drive, their cold uninspired interior, their sub-par service (to be fair, this could just be my dealership) and extremely overpriced cars, it was a simple decision for me. Truth be told, you cant go wrong with either as they are both great cars. To me, one was a little better. Here's my Nu-Nu:

See this pic of BMW interior's posted above?

you'll note that the gorgeous butter leather and nice wood trim and steering wheel is actually a custom ordered interior (The individual tag is on the steering wheel) 5K more for what you should have done at 52K in the first place? Thats the kind of poor value I'm talking about. $600 to hook up an Ipod? $1000 for keyless entry? C'mon...

Another car I completely forgot about in the same price class that I would drive over both of these is the Caddilac CTS.

I'm just curious, why?

i have the auto sedan (yea i know) and i'm not a fan of the new 7 speed tranny. In lower gears it's like it's thinking too much..Always was fascinated about the "driving feel" all BMW enthusiasts always talk about. Nonetheless I still love my G and I think Infiniti is moving in the right direction

I agree about the 7 speed, It seemed confused between 2-3rd gear. There is a service bulletin out that fixes that completely. I had it done two weeks in and it's a totally different car. Set up an appointment and have them flash it and your good to go. It took less than two hours.

Coming from a former BMW owner, that driving experience is real. It's crazy how confident the car makes you feel in turns and at high speed. It's all the other stuff that fell short for me. Like I said, you really can't go wrong with either. But i think someone who likes feeling they get what they paid for features and service will prefer the Infiniti.

This is pretty simple to me and comes down to two things: Money & the drive.

Now, I can somewhat speak on this from experience because I owned a 350Z before selling to buy my current car, a M3. As much as I enjoyed the Z...it doesn't compare in any fashion to the M. I've driven both the 335I and the G 37 and the BMW is far superior in every aspect as well. It's much, much faster and more refined. The driver feel of the two cannot be compared...the BMW feels that much better but...it's a lot more expensive, so, at the end of the day....what is more important to you.

I'm a driver, so, the bump in price was worth it for me because that M3 is maybe the best daily driver in the world.

I want that new M3 like a crack fiend. You lease or finance it?

I have an 05 and I'm financing it. I bought my Z brand new in 04 and sold it in 06 when I bought the M. I found the M at Motor Cars of Georgia with only 4,400 miles on it.

I absolutely love the car.
