Brazil

Brazil is one of the most beautiful countries on planet Earth. It's also a pretty dangerous place to tour. The main trouble in Brazil is the epic crime rate, with a murder rate four times that of the United States [source: Department of State]. Murder is just the tip of the iceberg in Brazil. High numbers of rapes, robberies and "quicknappings" occur. These are a new kind of crime where a person is abducted for a short amount of time with a quick payoff, typically from a drive to an ATM machine. Economically depressed areas like Sao Palo and Salvador are some of the most dangerous spots on Earth for gang violence. The crime doesn't just stick around the barrio though. Rio de Jeneiro, one of Brazil's premier tourist vacation destinations is also a hotbed of criminal activity. The growing chasm between the upper and lower classes in Brazil threaten to keep the violence going for the foreseeable future.

Club HELP is now closed, so you're going to be on your own.

Don't get bit by a tranny while you're out there.

You'll have a blast man. Like he said ^^^ be safe, but don't listen to the rumors that AIDS is running wild down there. I'm not sure who made that up but Brazil is nowhere near the top of the mountain when it comes to AIDS. Their rate is actually pretty close to ours here in the US.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_HIV/AIDS_adult_prevalence_rate

But you forget two important part though - they have HALF the population of the United States! and 1/2 of the country is near uninhabited rain forest.

So their AIDs rate and concentration is tremendously higher than the US if % adjusted.

what are you talking about? that link gives you the world prevelance rates. Meaning they give you the percentages. So the population of each country is completely irrelevant. ie you dont have to adjust for % because they already give them to you.

Think about what I'm saying another way and you'll understand.

ex. (1)
The government set a flat tax at 25%

What's going to HURT you more ...

if you made $100 = you're left with $75
if you made $200 = you're left with $150

It's not the rates that's changed, but the absolute values are what hurt.

ex. (2)
A virus breaks out. Where do you think it's going to spread faster - in a population that's clustered or a population that's spread out?

Brazil's population is highly clustered because 1/2 of the land is essentially inhabitable.

man, I guess I'm just dumb because what you're saying makes no sense to me. I posted those rates to show yall that there are a whole bunch of countries that have a higher AIDS prevelance rate than Brazil and that the RATE in the US is close to Brazil's. So the notion that there is such a horrific problem down there compared to the US or other countries around the world is ridiculous.

to the OP, go down, strap up, stay mellow and be careful...ig the comments about high AIDS rates and violence from those who have never stepped so much as a toe in brazil...be safe, and have fun

It's not the rate. Don't get fixated on the %.

Think about the ABSOLUTE VALUE.

Using an extreme example here.
Saying 50% of my population has a deadly disease is a tragic thing when there's only 10 people in your population. That means there's 5 clean people left.

When you have 100 people in your in population, you'll be fine.
You have 50 clean people.

It's the absolute value ... the number of people that makes you raise and eyebrow.

Brazil I think has like 150MM people living in the country.
America is in the 300MM range.

So although the %'s are exactly the same --- their are FAR LESS CLEAN and HEALTHY people in Brazil simply because of the number of people being less to start with.

Sooooooo, wouldn't there also be far less unhealthy and Aids infected people as well?

Your logic makes no sense..

Brasil has about 200 million people. I believe the land mass is slightly larger than the contiguous U.S. The infection rate in Brasil and the U.S. is about the same.

not this shit again

E and I been proved that Brazils Aids rate is almost identical to ours

However, their rate of new infections is on a massive decline unlike ours due to their massive governmental campaign to eradicate the disease

Oh well

blunt... i mean heist.. if you would stop all that googling, you might have some correct information.

Oh well

Yeah. I think CNN just did a big special about that program...
