Maybe we could see a true free market if Dubya allowed the banks to fail. Thats capitalism dawg, failures must happen in order for successful business models to emerge. Isn't it always the Repubs that operate on the premise that you don't reward irresponsibility? That's the reason Repubs are losing elections, they have to get rid of that "class warfare" stance and address the real issues facing the people of this country. People know something is wrong, but only a few speak out regarding "monetary policy"

How can you have a "free" market with the Federal Reserve controlling the issuance of $$$ & credit? You have to understand that when they inflate the money supply, it only hurts the poor, middle class and those on fixed incomes. When they inflate the money supply, it only represents wealth creation for those that get to use the money first ie. banks, military-industrial complex, big Pharma etc. thats why you have more billionaires on Wall Street than ever before. Creation / printing of money only represents the transfer of "paper" wealth from the "poor & middle class" to the wealthy.

GOP Hypocrisy on C Street

The GOP Hypocrisy on C Street is but another blow to the already tattered and bruised credibility of the Republican party. In the last few weeks three members of the C Street Family, a secretive and mysterious Christian group, have each demonstrated an astonishing level of moral hypocrisy.

Nevada Senator John Ensign, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, and former Representative Chip Pickering of Mississippi, all members of the C Street family, are all guilty of adultery. Adultery is a personal matter. Yet the fact that all three of these men made their political careers by publicly professing their religious faith and their so-called "family values", makes them more than fair game for scrutiny and condemnation.

Sanford was the subject of a sex scandal in June after admitting to an affair with a woman in Argentina. Ensign recently admitted that his family paid $96,000 in hush money to his former mistress and her family. Pickering is said to have conducted his adulterous affair within the walls of the C Street complex. Sanford and Ensign both demanded Clinton's resignation during the Monica Lewinski fiasco, though both now refuse to resign after being caught in similar circumstances. As such, both Sanford and Ensign reveal themselves to be complete and utter hypocrites.

Chip Pickering's "Family" affair

The Family -- a secretive and politically powerful religious group based in Washington -- has been linked to a third case of marital infidelity, raising fresh questions about its claims of being a Christian fellowship deserving of tax-free status.

CQ Politics reports that an alienation of affection lawsuit filed this week by Leisha Jane Pickering, the estranged wife of former U.S. Rep. Charles W. "Chip" Pickering Jr. of Mississippi, alleges that he had an extramarital affair with a former college girlfriend while he lived at the group's house at 133 C Street -- with some of the "wrongful conduct" occurring inside the building.

Pickering is the third member of The Family to become embroiled in a scandal over an affair recently. South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, a former Republican congressman, and Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) also admitted to adultery in recent weeks. Ensign lived at The Family's C Street house, while Sanford said in his press conference confessing to the affair that he spent time there.

Pickering, who represented Mississippi's 3rd Congressional District from 1996 until he retired this year, filed for divorce in 2008. According to CQ Politics:

Pickering was once seen as the natural successor to Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., who retired in the 110th Congress. But the lawsuit alleges that Pickering turned down an offer by Gov. Haley Barbour, R-Miss., to take Lott's seat and instead retired from the House this year because his mistress gave him an ultimatum: either continue in Congress without her or leave Congress to be with her.

As we reported earlier this month, The Family was founded in the 1930s by a Norwegian immigrant and itinerant minister interested in serving the powerful and opposing the New Deal. Today the group is incorporated as a tax-free 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating under the name The Fellowship Foundation.

It maintains a three-story, $1.1 million red brick townhouse on C Street -- a former convent that now houses members of Congress. Other lawmakers who have rented rooms there, some at below-market rates, are Rep. Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.) and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).

Pickering, who has five sons with Leisha, is a former Southern Baptist missionary. He appeared as himself in the 2006 Sacha Baron Cohen film "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," attending an emotional Pentecostal service where the congregation cheered against the teaching of evolution.

Let say you vote for Ralph Nader, if he doesn't win , than your secondary vote can go to the DEMS. Increase diversity of choices at election and your non-vote of DEM doesn't give rise to the power of right which isn't your general intent; or vice-versa with Republicans and polictical parties to the right.
