Inspired by boro's thread. I want to know some of the best books that you read or strongly recommend others reading...?

As a college student, I'd have to admit that I don't read as much as I'm suppose to. I'm thinking about making it a habit of mine to start doing so, so I would be able to build up my vocabulary and open my mind up to new things.

Discuss.

can't name them cause it's so many that I like but I would say any book that has to do with the history of black people

I've read so many great books in many different catagories, but if forced to pick one, I'd have to say The Color Purple. I literally couldn't put it down until I finished.

icewind dale trilogy, dark elf trilogy, and legacy of the drow..all by r.a salvatore. i'm into fantasy novels

The Godfather
To Kill A Mockingbird
The Derek Strange series by George Pelecanos (writer/producer of The Wire)
The Bad Guys Won

I would say the Bible as well but I haven't been able to finish it ...yet

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows. If you think its a kid's book then you are a fool. The Movie SHOULD be rated R.

Native Son by James Baldwin

Once you start you won't put it down. Great Summer reading.

I also love WALTER MOSELEY books and ELMORE LEONARD's crime novels.

lol damn..I remember when I was younger I used to breeze thru them harry potter books like they were nothing..now you won't catch me dead looking at them shits even if I were to pass by them in a bookstore..lol...I do regret that I haven't had the chance to read the last two series..might have to snag some when nobody is around.lol

Pipe Dreams + The Bridge
Fearless Jones + Fear Itself
The Great Gatsby

Rich Dad Poor Dad - probably the most useful book I've ever read.

My best friend gave me this book when we were in high school. She was devout 7th day Adventist.

What is that book about? Never read it, but still have it.

i also grew up in the same church, but i no longer go,not cause of the church or its teachings.it deals with bible prophecies, but what got me was the historical findings, old u.s laws, and so on its a good read.the religious side of it doesn't go to well with many.i read it when i was young aswell. read it you may like it.are ya'll still friends?i think she was lookin out for you by givin you it.just my thoughts
