Secondly, thank you for realizing the intent of my post...it was NOT to bash black women at all...nor is it meant as a thread to define what a diva is and what a diva is not...it simply was a thread to expose behaviors from a woman that could be a predictor of self-centered, selfish behavior that will become quite evident later in the relationship...
Funny you should mention the definition of 'diva'...one of the women I mentioned before regarding the handicapped parking sticker is a singer...I said she was a diva once, and she lost her fucking mind on me...she didn't take too kindly to my statement...
Also to the poster who was sticking up for the women by saying, 'maybe she had a condition that she did not tell you about'...I knew these women pretty well, and trust and believe, she did not qualify for a handicapped parking sticker, so please put the cape away, playa...

I consider myself many of things and a DIVA is one of them. But folks who know me in REAL LIFE know that the examples some of ya'll listed are not of the DIVA persuasion...More of the Hood-Rat, Ghetto and chicken head label in my opinion.

There is a good definition of diva as well as a bad definition of the word....the good definition means a woman who carries themselves with class and dignity in the entertainment field (i.e., singing or acting), and by extension, in life...this is the way I meant to describe the woman I'm mentioning...

She took it as the bad definition of diva, meaning someone who is self-centered, arrogant, self-absorbed, and narcissistic...based on the way she reacted, I'm quite sure it was not the first time she was called a diva in this context (and I'm sure it will not be the last).
I know all of you know someone in both classes...perhaps I should have clarified the original title of the thread by asking the Fam to name a not-so-obvious sign that a woman show to say, 'It's all about me'...

I agree that handicap shit is fucked up,diva or no diva.... If you are not handicapped give thanks. If you park in that shit and later end up handicapped fo real you can only blame yourself... karma is a bitch... or better yet like my mom used to tell me "the subconscious mind knows no jokes".
The thing about divas is they tend to have behaviour that no one would tolerate unless they are paid to. So women in general should think about that when describing themselves with that word. In current times Diva seems to be used to describe celebrities who are excessively demanding.
