Hollins and Green don't get PT because they're not very smart basketball players. JR Smith isn't a smart basketball player but George Karl can work around that with Anthony Carter and Billups on the team. Its not about Green not playing defense. Its about what Wright can do. Wright is a 7th or 8th man on a contender. Mavs trying to force him as a starter. But he doesn't lose you games or kill momentum. That's what Green does. Its too late to play Green now. Should've did the shit at the beginning of the season. Actually they did and just stopped.


And I don't care what no one says. Mavs should've did that Baron Davis and Kaman for Kidd trade. All Kidd is going to do is leave the Mavs for a real contender like Cleveland and the Mavs will have traded Devin Harris for what again?

I'm in agreement with you. I said this long ago that they should've been playing them from the get go. I'm not convinced this is a contender after that Spurs shit. Just not. They got a Spurs team with a hobbled Duncan and no Manu. But they got to the 2nd round which is more than I expected. Yea, that was the deal but I thought DJ got hurt before anything could go through. Cuban and Nellie fucked up then.

Hollins is gonna be a good role player with PT and seasoning. Green is athletic and we really could use him at shooting guard but his basketball IQ is low. His defense and rotations are horrendous. I really wish Carlisle could have played him more but the Mavs were really trying to stay in the playoff hunt this year.

Carlisle is cool he just seems like a more seasoned Avery. You know, one of those good coaches that got fired a couple of times, and grew because they learned from their mistakes

there's some factors i think need a closer look:

1) allen iverson left, and some felt it would be a case of addition by subtraction. removing allen iverson would improve the team. but the team only won 4 more games.

2) chauncey billups arrived, and has played well. and i think chauncey billups has improved the team more through leadership and providing a steady veteran leadership on the floor. but again, the team has only won 4 more games.

3) nene hilario returned, and has played well. has he been the actual x-factor?

4) dahntay jones and j.r. smith have stepped into their roles well. how much did they contribute to the success of the team?
