OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!!!)

Re: OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!

the Pacman and Hatton fight is off due to money and other shit....

and I do believe Floyd will come back to fight Pacman....its time...the money is there....and everything else that BOXING is all about is on the line...

by the end of the year I expect to see a fight....

Re: OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!

Floyd is not a power fighter at the higher weight classes he's been fighting at now. He's not going to brawl with Margarito and he won't try to knock him out... He would lazer tag his non-heading movement, slow as a turtle ass all night. He wouldstick and move like he's done with other boxers like Margarito. How is Margarito gonna "Wear Down" a boxer that he is too fucking slow to hit and who is going to win the exchanges when they actually trade punches? He could barely land punches on Shane..and even without PBF wearing out the body like Mosley dude, Margarito is too fucking slow and without real boxing skills to hit PBF consistently... and PBF is a MUCH MORE CEREBRAL boxer than Margarito... PBF would take Margarito to fucking school..always would...that's why I never even wanted to see the fight... give me Pacman against PBF anytime over a margarito bout...
The difference between Margarito and stylistically similar fighters that Floyd has fought, is a wide disparity in size. I think at some point that size would play a role. At any rate that fight won't happen. I can definetly see Floyd coming out of retirement for a mega-matchup with Pacman or Shane. I see Floyd beating both of them although a fight would Shane could be dangerous. I think he would catch Pacman every time he tried to jump in.

The money issue was resolved yesterday. Pacman is taking the better end of the split 52-48. The fight is back on.

If Pacman does what he is supposed to do against Hatton, you'll see Floyd back last this year fighting Pacman....ain't no doubt about it.

We'll see, but I think he's through w/ the sport.

Yeah, I would like to see him stay retired for his sake, it would be good to see an elite fighter with a happy ending.

That being said, hes coming back, and the money vs the winner of the Hatton vs. Pac fight, whoever wins, will be too much for him to turn away from.

It almost seems as though Floyd has gotten larger in retirement, like hes an urban legend now, than he was even after his best performance.

His "retirement" might have been the best career move he could have made.

thanks for that update...because the money was a major issue....

Re: OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!

I dont know much about Jennings but that fight has Roy Jones-Glen Johnson possibilities to me. His record is 34-1, so even if he hasnt fought elite opponents, he has some experience so he could be a spoiler.

As far as Clottey, I would like to see him get his break, but none of the top tier cats want a piece of him.

The only possibility Clottey has of getting a bigger fight is maybe with Paul Williams ( I personally hope this doesnt happen, at least not yet because I like both these cats and would rather see them fight when they've both established themselves a little more because whoever loses will be ducked even more than they were before because people will then have and excuse to duck them).

Clottey is too much of a risk to put in with big fighters because hes too much of a risk and even if he wins he probably isn't going to be a big draw.

Which is too bad for Clottey...I think he and Nate Campbell are almost in the same boat for not getting big fights in the division because of their styles.

I don't think Josh would get a fight with Williams due to the fact that if Williams wins his next fight, he will be in the middleweight division for a while. He may end up facing Andre Berto in the near future.

Yup, whenever you talk boxing w/ somebody now, it's "yeah , but how would he do against Floyd", or "man, I'd like to see him vs. Floyd"

I'm guilty of it too.

Man, Shane beat the piss outta him. I didn't see that coming. Then he tried to cheat on top of that.:smh:

Margarito is no bigger than DLH...and he's slower than what DLH was when he fought Floyd...and Floyd can connect punching off his heals.... Margarito would get 1-2d all night and Floyd would back off or hold when they locked up so that Margarito couldn't throw in punches when clenched (just like Shane did)...and Margarito doesn't even have a jab...DLH was winning early because of the effectiveness of his jab.... just being bigger is not good enough when fighting someone of PBF's caliber and speed... if he were a brawler with at least decent speed and boxing kills, then i would say ok... but Margarito has always been overrated to me...

I will say this though.. i COMPLETELY miscalled the DLH/Pacman fight...

Pacman vs PBF would do CRAZY numbers....

Yeah I think Williams is going to end up staying at 154-160 unless one of the big fights comes through for him. If you remember he was real close to fighting Pavlik right before Pavlik decided to fight Bernard but the promoters couldn't agree on it.

Yup, whenever you talk boxing w/ somebody now, it's "yeah , but how would he do against Floyd", or "man, I'd like to see him vs. Floyd"

I'm guilty of it too.

This is why I think he should stay retired if his money holds up. He'll never be able to live up to the hype he has around him now. Its like since he retired cats turned him form a great technical boxer into Mike Tyson in his prime.

Re: OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!

Big ups for going out on a limb to pick Shane.

I don't think Shane will be able to handle the pressure that Margarito is going to put on him.

1. His only way to win is to fight is to bang with him. But he's not gonna hurt Margarito because his chin is cast iron.

2. Mosley is too short to stay on the outside and outbox Margarito.

3. He's gonna have to fight on the inside then take it to the outside in spurts.

I posted this earlier.

Eventhough I thought he couldn't do it, he followed my points perfectly.

Re: OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!

Pacman vs PBF would do CRAZY numbers....

The fucked up thing is with the cult like status Ricky Hatton seems to have with British boxing fans, I think those numbers would still be bigger, even though Floyd already handed him his ass and made him head butt his self in the corner turnbuckle.

I think Floyd-Pac would do better with American fans, but overall I think the Floyd-Hatton fight would be bigger, especially if they fought in the UK.

I in no way want to see Floyd fight Hatton again though. If it weren't for the money Hattons fans bring to the table he wouldnt even be considered for the undercards for these major PPV fights. Its a damn shame.

I give props to Manny in that fight, but I dont think Oscar is shot yet. I think he over trained and fucked up picking a new trainer (should have stayed with Mayweather Sr.)

Oscar will be back in 09 son, believe it. How he comes back from that ass-whooping is the question though.

Remember, a lot of people were saying Bernard was shot before the Pavlik fight.

If you have HBO they always repeat it early Sunday mornings.

Re: OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!

But Oscar looked just as bad against Stevie Forbes(remember his face at the press conf. afeter the fight:eek:) If Stevie had more pop he woulda put DLH on his back.

DLH was shot and Pacman had something to do with it...but you could see it from the opening bell. Margarito was not shot...it was cause and effect from the body punches from Shane...margarito really didn't start to slow down until the late 7th after those body punches started wearing on him.... DLH had nothing in that Pacman bout from the beginning.. add to that to speed of Pacman..and it was a rap...DLH aged..it happens to older fighter where all of a sudden they seem to sometimes lose it completely overnight..

Re: OFFICIAL Antonio Margarito vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosley Thread (STREAM LINKS INSIDE!!

You sure, I thought HBO was the same for the whole east coast. They'll repeat it at some time tomorrow, they always do.

You right Outlaw dvr set for 9:45 good looks

:lol:But Margarito is an older fighter. He may be only 30, but he's been a pro since 16. He's old in boxing years. Regardless im not trying to get on that cuz we aren't gonna agree.

I think there was a difference with B-Hop and Oscar before those fights, though. Hopkins faced a higher caliber fighter in Calzaghe and had positive moments in the fight, with some thinking that he won that fight (including me). Oscar fought Forbes, who although he was a good veteran, was not thought to be in the ring the full 12 rounds against Oscar. The way that Manny dominated that fight, there are few options left for Oscar to have now...
