I know this female who does these kind of things....for stores like Rite-Aid, Mcrays, Dillards, Outback, Lonestar steakhouse......She took me out for dinner once and my job was to time everything and document it on the low in my cell phone.... She also gave me some of the items she had as a result of making a purchase at the stores.....

Bump this back up. I never saw this list, but I got involved a few months ago and yes, it really does work and you really do get paid. It's not easy breezy, as there is WORK involved, but just writing reports and taking pictures. I know how hard it was for me to find the info, so bump for all those who wanted to do it but didn't know how.

Yeah hell of a list thanks.

Never seen this thread nether thanks also cooliojones for the bump.

My bad, let me add some more info. The best thing to do is to go to the mystery shopping forums on this site: volition.com and read the reviews of the various companies. Using the list that Da Don provided, it will take you literally weeks unless you are dedicated, out of work, bored or have nothing else to do to fill up your time. BUT, it will also save you a lot fo time from signing up with unworthy companies.

Some companies pay very slow (60+ days), some are cash-strapped and use payments from new customers to pay their old shops, some have schedulers with personality issues, etc. It's a GREAT resource to help you figure out which are the best, and which are a waste of time. Before I sign up with anyone, I always read the most recent reviews, then decide from there.

I do mystery shopping sometimes. I got $65 to get personal trained. So that was cool. I might start back up since gas has gone down now.

I thought of doing it. Found the ad in the school paper at my job.. Registered... got the list of companies and then cut the company off.. They try to charge you to get the list of companies...

Then you are with the wrong company. You NEVER have to pay to be a shopper, USE THE LINK I provided and you won't have to make those mistakes.

bump...

honestly, to each his own, but this is one of the best methods for making money out there today (part time). SOme of y'all trying to maximize that internet thing (Inbox dollars, domains, them survey sites), but if you want some REAL money to pay some REAL bills, you gotta roll up ya sleeves and do some work. Think about it:

Get paid to eat out
Get paid to go to the movies
Get paid to get your car serviced
Get paid to grocery shop

So not only to you REDUCE your bills by having them reimbursed, but you get PAID on top of that. Inbox dollars ain't gonna do that for ya playa. Sleep on it if you want, but I swear I was looking for this info (although not actively) for 5+ years, now I'm so glad I finally found it.

BUMP!!!

So you actually do this yourself? I'm down for any bullshit schemes. I really need something on the side.

Do it almost everyday bruh. Just did a Subway yesterday and another one today. Free footlong and get paid on top of that. Got a Zaxby's on Saturday and a John Weiland home visit next week that pays $30 for about 30-45 minutes of my time. I only wish I found out about this 10 years ago.

What company you with...because I was interested until this one company stated that payments are sent +60 days....really turned me off to the whole idea.

Let me know something!

Shop N Chek (which is now Market Force), AboutFace, Goodwin, iMyst, Certifed Marketing, a host of others. I have actually gotten paid with all except Goodwin. Once you start, you don't want to work exclusively for any one company cause you will not make money that way (well you can, but you gotta hope they have steady work). Sign up for as many as you can, and periodically I'll post who you should absolutely avoid. Such as:

Advisory Group
Freeman Group
GAPBuster
Intellishop
Restaurant Evaluators
Mystery Guest, Inc.

I haven't worked for them personally, but I read that they all have had problems paying their shoppers on time, if at all.

Oh, and don't sweat the fact that it takes 60+ days to get paid or reimbursed. You have to start it and keep working it so that you have money coming in all the time, every month. I started in October, and now I expect a check every month around the 12-14th. Just was paid Monday and today.

Furthermore, now my girl's mom is into it too. SO we are all doing it. On Friday, I'm going to see Notorious for free, actually I'm getting paid $20 to go see it and measure the audience reaction to the trailers that play before the movie. Once the trailers are done, I'll sit back and enjoy nachos and drinks that are paid for, and it's not costing me one cent. Starbucks, Publix, Longhorn Steakhouse, all these places need shoppers and will pay you to evaluate, and reimburse you for your purchases.

But hey, you can keep reading here or just go sign up to make money doing what you were already gonna do.

 YO!

I just got an assignment to do the "trailer check" for Notorious,
I am waiting for paperwork. Pays $12.50 = Direct Deposit :D

My question is this though.....

1) Am I going to have to pay out of my own pocket @ the movie?

2) Am I going to be able to watch the movie or do I have to leave after the trailers?

Nah, you don't have to pay at all, just print your paperwork, show it to the manager, then as you go to the auditoriums show it to the ushers and do like that song and "walk on by."

After you watch the trailers, you can stay and watch. you'll already be in the theatre, so it's not like they are gonna call the cops and lead SWAT into the theatre you are in! The "work" you have to do takes like 15 minutes. Actually, the "work" part takes like 5 minutes total. The only thing is that you have to check all the screens that it is playing on, so if it's playing on 3 screens, you'll have to pick 1 showtime to go see the trailers in auditorium 2, 1 showtime to check in auditorium 5, etc. Easy stuff.

Last time I checked 3 screens and they were spaced 30 minutes apart, so after the 6:30 showing, I got out of that one at about 6:45, then went into the 7:00 showing, then after I was done there, went into the 7:30 showing. After that, I went to another theatre across town and Had to check only one screen. I usually make my last check the one where I sit and actually watch the whole movie.

After you do it, post here about your experience.

thats whats up but 12.50 to be in the field that long seems a little low and not worth it. but again this post is slamming. like you said im sure those jobs add up and can pay for a vacation at the end of the year

$12.50 + $2.50 for each screening....

That's just 1 shop.....

Yeah and I think he's forgetting the part about them paying you to go see a movie that you would have paid $10 to see. On opening day. Whatever showtime you want. :smh:

And yeah, usually you have to download the paperwork the night before. I just got an e-mail about mine.

They canceled on me....

I never got the paperwork & My assignments have been cleared out...

Now when I do a search the aren't any results....

I did get this message though....

One or more of your assigned theatres for the Warner Bros. First show trailer check WBFS0903F (Notorious) for Friday, January 16th has been cancelled by our client. Please confirm the locations that you may be assigned to. You can also search for additional theatres in your area by searching for this Project ID, or you can search for all available trailer check assignments by selecting "Trailer Checks" in the dropdown box.

We thank you for your continued support.
CRI/Market Force

Sometimes, that happens, but don't sweat, they'll be more. I had two from two other companies taken from me yesterday.

I signed up with 3 companies....& I am not getting any assignments from either 1 of them....:(

Which ones? Sometimes they don't have any assignments available. I was signed up with one initially that I got the most work through, but this month they kinda dried up. Just go hard for at least a month, sign up w/ companies and read the message boards, it'll come thru.

Oh yeah, you gotta be QUICK too when getting assignments, cause they do go fast. Not only do people like this opportunity, but since we're in a recession, people are looking hard for anything that will put some dollars in their pockets.

All of them are good, I worked with the first 2 this month, iMyst pays fast as hell too. Also depends on the area you in. I remember when I got my first shop, I was happy as hell! But you doing the right thing man, just keep checking the site and even if it's something you don't wanna do, do it so you show the schedulers that you are reliable and do good work. Then you'll get calls for help on certain projects that pay out more.

I got 1 assignment where they want me to book an appointment for a carpet estimate & they actually want the person to come to my crib to do it. :smh:

I don't even let family & friends come thru like that....hell I don't even say "hi" to my neighbors....

Anything where I have to go to the store & jot down notes that's fine, but strangers in my home violates the sanctity of my lair.

It's just for a quote. I was gonna do it and use my girl's house. And it's $15, right?

It's not in my area anymore, but I would do it if it comes up again. AND they had one where you get $5 to make a website inquiry. Man last time they did that there were a bunch of them that were left on the board. If I knew then what I know now, I would have done 20 of em and made a quick buck with it.

I just had one cancel on me today because I called the number and it was disconnected. Oh well. But man, Notorious was the best movie I never paid to see!

Testimonials

Ok, made a separate post to list my testimonial. I look on this site a lot and see great ideas, but no one has stepped up and placed exactly how much they are getting, just being ambiguous and saying "yeah, I do that," or whatever.

Shopping is not going to be a cash cow for me, so I'm lowering my expectations to $500/mo from $1k/mo. Most of the stuff I do isn't out of my way, so it's just spending a few extra minutes helping people out and getting paid for it. Sometimes it's better than a P/T gig because it's so flexible. Also, the goal is this to more or less cover the customary expenses of going out and having a good time, i.e. eating out, movies, and eventually regular expenses like gas and groceries. Yes, it can be done!

Anyway, Jan 09 thus far I've netted $468.29 w/ 13 or so more days in the month left. This is made up of shopper fees and reimbursements from 10 different companies. Already I've been paid from one company I worked for LAST WEEK. Earlier this week I was paid from the work I did last month.

The way it is setup for me, at this point every month I will just receive money almost every week or so, some amounts higher/lower than others. Also, at this point, this pays for ALL of my bills, except the lease on my apartment.

Yeah fam when I did the secret shopping thing I made a little cash but I really did it for the grub. I did all the lunchtime or evening food surveys I could handle. I used to do about 3 a week. Reimbursement plus a quick $5 - $12 bucks depending on the meal.
I didn't make more than $100 a month doing that shit. But I didn't go hard.
