naw, i PLAYED football, i KNOW FOOTBALL. making READS has NOTHING to do with MOBILITY and delivery, but everything to do with quick decisions. Peyton Manning doesnt have a quick release, but he makes QUICK decisions. Leftwich makes quicker decisions with the ball and trusts his arm to get it into tight coverage, whereas Rothleisberger doesnt have the arm strength to do that. Sure, he (leftwich) has a big windup, but thats not his problem, he is just tall and lanky, and stays in the pocket, thus, the injuries.
Making reads wont do you any good if it takes you forever and a day to get the ball to where you made the read. Which is why Leftwith lost his job to his bsackup from East Carolina weeks before the season started and didn't manage to catch on in Atlanta. To his credit, he did beat out Dante Culpepper. Big whoop. You his cousin?
Troybliss to replace Matt Millen as GM of the Detroit Lions

Leftwich has performed horribly when he has had to step in before. He knew he had to step it up tonight. Roethlisberger is still the right man for the job...he just needs better protection. Ben tends to hold on to the ball a little long sometimes, but that O-line is the main problem. It's porous and they need to kill that shit quick.
