Press Release

Marvel would like to announce that the hotly anticipated, extra-sized Secret Invasion #8 will now arrive in stores on December 3rd, 2008. The top-selling comic book event of 2008, by award winning scribe Brian Michael Bendis and superstar artist Leinil Yu, concludes with this final issue that redefines the Marvel Universe and begins Dark Reign!

“The additional pages in #8 did both Leinil and the schedule in,” explained Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “Anybody who pored over the artwork from #7 a week ago can easily see how he and Mark Morales have been putting their all (and then some) into every page and every panel, and that effort has finally caught up with us. Hopefully, retailers and fans will forgive us these extra two weeks as we make sure that everything is in the shape it should be in for the extra-sized climax—and from there, it’ll be smooth sailing straight into DARK REIGN.”

David Gabriel, Marvel’s Senior Vice President of Sales, added, “In speaking with retailers, Marvel decided it was more important to preserve the creative integrity of the series, rather than rush out the final issue. This not only creates a stronger product for our loyal readers, but also for our retailer partners, whose support helped make Secret Invasion a huge success.”

well, at least we got 7 consecutive issues :dunno:

No problem. I was surprised to see the link because I thought it was due out in November. I like how they took Heath Ledger's Joker and gave him his own book.

Really?

It didn't read like Ledger's Joker to me.

And Azzrello was working on this before The Dark Knight finished filming...

How the fuck do they do that every year.

I'd normally be pissed like last year (World War Hulk) but Secret Invasion hasn't really done shit for me...

Avengers Disassembled, referred to in some participating series as Disassembled, is a crossover event between several Marvel Comics series. The general idea is that the major heroes (the Avengers, Spider-Man, and the Fantastic Four) are assaulted, not just physically, but emotionally. Author Brian Michael Bendis said in an article in Newsarama that the one thing that separates this crossover from others is that "not everyone is coming back from this one." The "Disassembled" tag is a reference to the Avengers' rallying cry, "Avengers Assemble!".

The series centers on the Avengers, and this stems into the individual crises affecting Thor, Captain America and Iron Man. The "Disassembled" stories of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four do not tie in and are stand-alone storylines that only share the "Disassembled" title. The "Disassembled" trade paperbacks display the Avengers "A" symbol on the spines, completed when all of the "Avengers Disassembled" books are displayed in order: Avengers, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man.

The active members of the Avengers team during the events of "Chaos" (the Avengers portion of "Avengers Disassembled") were Ant-Man II, Captain America, Captain Britain III (Kelsey Leigh), Falcon, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Vision, Wasp and Yellowjacket.

Plot synopsis

The story begins when the Avengers Mansion sensors warn the residing Avengers of an intruder, quickly identified as Jack of Hearts, who had died saving the life of Ant-Man's daughter Cassie Lang...

man they have got to get jeff loeb away from the ultimates universe!

Man I wouldn't be mad if they just got rid of the whole universe.

That shit had so much potential.

But between inconsistant release dates, and inconsistant storylines (I let in pass in the regular Marvel U, but in the Ultimate universe that shit is inexcusable) I'm pretty much done.

Here are my recommendations

Ultimates Vol 1 & 2

Ultimate Power:yes::yes::yes:

And Ultimate Spider-Man (issues 1-106).

Ultimate X-men was cool, but I won't miss it.

And I'll never forgive them niggas for this shit...

(7) Libra Shows up and Final Crisis begins.. DC throws out Continuity
*At this same time, Superman Returns to the Future to help the legion Fight SBPrime. But is also away doing Something to save lois.
Ok, I think that would be the Superman Beyond series where one of the Monitors(female) comes and gets Clark from the hospital where Lois is, and takes him into what may or may not be the bleed(mostly talked about in Wildstorm books). I know he's with different versions himself, like a former Nazi, a Soviet version, and Ultraman from the antimatter-verse, and some fitting his "archtype" like a version of Captain Marvel, who may be Billy Batson obiviously from a differ reality, that's there with him. I remember at the Ultraman scream something about evil winning in the end and he actually gotten his on hands on the damn Crime Bible.
So with that said, anyone got the second issue of Superman Beyond yet?

Really?

It didn't read like Ledger's Joker to me.

And Azzrello was working on this before The Dark Knight finished filming...

The Look is 100% Ledger, But this Joker is not as insane as the regular joker.
It felt more like a movie adaptation to me also. More street thugs than super villians.

Good read though.

Considering the current political climate, I'm loving the "NEW KRYPTON" storyline.

And I nearly lost it when Martha Kent opens her door to find Krypto scracthing it. I love that Supes' writers are making it a point of figuring Krypto seriously in the Superman mythos. I'm a sucker for dog stories.
