That wasnt Bruce. It was Dan Turpin. Bruce is with Granny Goodness. I wish it WAS Bat's Then we woulda seen Just how strong Batman's willpower is. Him and Wolverine are damn near undominatable.

]

Who is Dan Turpin and why is he such a suitable candidate to be taken over by Darkseid? I havent really followed DC's events too closely

Dan_Turpin_-_Superman_-_Funeral_for_a_Friend.jpg

Due to a recent retcon, Dan Turpin was made the adult version of Jack Kirby's Golden Age "kid-gang" character Brooklyn, of the Boy Commandos.[citation needed]

[edit] Fictional character biography

Lieutenant Inspector Dan Turpin is a member of the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit. In the third Superboy series, Dan Turpin is sent to Hawaii to investigate whether or not they needed a Special Crimes Unit of their own. While initially skeptical, a visit from the violent Darkseid faction, the Female Furies convinces Dan that the islands need an SCU.[1] In current Superman titles, Turpin is extremely loyal to Inspector Sawyer, before her transfer to Gotham City. His romantic feelings for her fall apart when he learns she is a lesbian. Turpin has a wife named Maisie.

[edit] Current status

Dan Turpin returns in Final Crisis #1 (May 2008). He had been called back from retirement to investigate the case of several missing kids; this evolves into investigating the death of the New God Orion. Orion passes on several cryptic phrases to Turpin before finally passing away.

In the second issue, he follows clues given to him by Renee Montoya and The Mad Hatter, investigating The Dark Side Club and journeying to the devastated city of Blüdhaven. There he meets up with reverend Good, and begins to realize that "there's someone in my head."

In the fourth issue, Turpin is shown to be the new host body for Darkseid

In the Final Crisis sketchbook, Turpin is described as "Kirby drawn by F. Miller".

Was that whole fucking New Gods mini out of continuity cuz I swear Orion kills Darkseid in that book. Fucking DC is run by a bunch of crazy people these days.

Ok heres how it went..

Identity Crisis Sets up

1)Infinite Crisis

2) 52 and Return of Hal Jordan Sinestro Corps formation take place around the same time.

"1 Year later"

3) Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman return and reform the JLA.. The JSA also reforms..

4)The lightning Saga Happens when the Legionnaires return.. Capturing something in the Lightning rod.
4a) Countdown to Crisis Begins.

5)The Sinestro Corps War Begins/ends at around Same time. Superboy Prime Leaves Earth.

6)Superman Journeys to the future and helps the Legion. They defeat the Justice League of Earth.( Perverted version of the JLA.)

6A) Around this time, before or after Superman does Death of the New gods. Orion kills Darkseid. Which is weird because this "Boss Darkside" Appears on Earth around same time.

7) Libra Shows up and Final Crisis begins.. DC throws out Continuity
*At this same time, Superman Returns to the Future to help the legion Fight SBPrime. But is also away doing Something to save lois.
*Batman RIP happens before the Final Crisis.
*Everything in Countdown is IGNORED..
*Death of the New Gods IGNORED.
*Sinestro Corps aftermath IGNORED...
*Events of Salvation Run IGNORED... Except the revealing or Martian Man hunter, then his murder.

8) I gave up on the main book and am only rading/buying The Final Crisis Rogues, Legion of three worlds, and Revelations.. They are MUCH superior to the main book.

Typically we dont give away our links.. Because the more people that know about them, the more likely they'll be shut down.

But one way to find things.... Is type in whatever book you want... then rapidshare at the end.

i wouldnt mind if someone would pm me a link though

Comic Mega events were soooo much easier to follow when I was a kid.Crisis is ALL over the place.....I remember the Inifinty Gauntlet/War/Crusade were all so easy to follow.....

That being said I'm awaiting the damn Red Lanterns next week and BlacCest Night in 2-3 months.

also type cbz or cbr in the search with the name and rapidshare.

Then you will find links to the sites. The foreign sites have the best archives.
I use 4chan for individual searches.

the only Secret Invasion tie-in i'm following is the Unhumans one because it's a prelude to the War Of Kings event that's coming next year
but
reading Thunderbolts, they way they are hinting at things
could it be that Osborn will take over Director Od Shield?
Marvel have been hinting that Mar-Vell and Osbiorn will have big roles in the outcome of the invasion
could it be that Osborn takes over?
and the next banner for the books coming out of SI are called Dark Reign
so maybe Marvel will not dissapoint us at the end of the invasion :dunno:

HAhahaha!! :lol::lol: Not disappoint.....I'm sorry, I sorry...
that last line was hilarious

The Thunderbolts have been really good lately.
I could see Osborne taking over SHEILD or some other type of high position.
I always like books featuring secondary characters in
staring rolls. The writers have alot more to play with creatively.

Over at DC; Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and Secret Six are some my "must reads".

The only thing About Final Crisis that I like so far is ...

The Flash Rogues Book

The Legion Book

The Book with the Question and the Spectre in it.. Revelations.

"Revelations" and "Rogues' Revenge" are the truth . It seems that with the past 2 big events ("Final Crisis" & "Secret Invasion") the side stories have been more interesting. Crisis has picked up though. So has Invasion (and it only took 7 issues ). The only series that had me hooked from start to finish was "Messiah Complex." The 6-8 day wait between issues was infuriating .

Im kinda tired of these BIG Events at both camps.. Just get back to good ole story telling. If a Bigger Event comes out of it. Then so be it. The Green Lantern thing will be Epic in comparison to Final Crisis in the long run. Much as Annihilation changed the Game for Marvels Cosmic groups.

I'll download Dark Reign and see what's up. but Bendis.. his damn pickle head... I hope he stops changing Marvel because he gets a fuckin whim...

no offense, but it cracks me up when niggas ask other nigga's for the sources of thier products. that's like bein' at the barbershop and askin' the bootleg nigga where he gets his bootlegs from.

I agree...
The big "EVENTS" have taken away from solid story telling.
The Avengers (West Coast, New, Mighty) have been one of my favorite groups/books but neither one has been the same since Civil War.
Every story arc does not have to be a cross promotion epic.

Invasion would have been more powerful if they would have kept it an underlying theme in all of the Marvel books. Then have a big reveal and fight in a 3 issue blow out.

That was my point about the secondary books. The stories are better because the writers don't have to "protect" the big money makers. (Bats, Supes, WW, X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, Cap....ect)
I think mainstream success of the Movies may have something to do with it.

I guess that is why Annihilation, Rouges, Sinestro War, ect... are all better series than the Major ones.
