what was your favorite WHITE sitcom?

Cheers
Married with Children
Titus-Stacy Keach funny as a mofo in this shit
Drew Carey show
Night Court

any of you remember night court? re-runs used to come on my mom said she used to watch it all the time. shit was funny as hell to me. seinfeild. married with children. that 70's show had it's moments

Hands down, that is one of my all time favorite sitcoms. Watched it in high school religiously. Seasons 3-6 were the best, it went downhill after Executive Producer Reinhold Weege left.

Oh, my other favorite sitcom:

night court was a trip..some of the women that dan fielding was pulling were fine(including teri hatcher in a guest role)

my favorite episodes were the "semi-serious" ones, like when roz went into insulin shock, the ones w/ leon(that orphan who was always hanging around the court building) and that one where mac got drunk after his wife went on that spending spree

King of Queens, Married with Children and like every show that used to be on T.G.I. Fridays back n the day

Gorge Lopez was funny at first, then it got annoying when the daughter started doing stupid shit and became the focus of too many shows, so I stopped watching.

King of Queens is hilarious, and highly slept on.

I like Seinfeld, too. I never liked Kramer's character anyway. He was too over the top and unfunny. George, however, was over the top and hilarious. The reason why I like this is the same reason I like "Curb Your Enthusiasm;" Jerry, George, and Elaine would have the most serious discussions about the stupidest shit.

Not a fan of sitcoms, but FRIENDS is a valuable lesson for all writers

The show was successful because the writers created a fake Manhattan that most white people wanted to live in.

It convinced then that they could move there with no crime, no pollution, no scary minorities, huge apartments with little or no rent, sex with former TV stars and so forth. When Bin Laden hit the towers they simply stopped mentioning them because terrorism doesn't exist on that show.

I don't agree with the values that the show presented, but I do agree with the idea that creating a good universe is far more important than telling a good story. It worked for Leave it to Beaver, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Star Trek, and any other successful franchise you can think of.

All in the Family is an American sitcom television series that was originally broadcast on the CBS television network for nine seasons, from 1971 to 1979.
Based on the British sitcom Till Death Us Do Part,[1][2] All in the Family was produced by Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin. It starred Carroll O'Connor, Jean Stapleton, Sally Struthers, and Rob Reiner. The show revolves around the life of a working-class man and his family. The show broke ground in its depiction of issues previously considered unsuitable for a US network television comedy, such as racism, antisemitism, infidelity, homosexuality,[3] women's liberation, rape, religion, miscarriages, abortion, breast cancer, the Vietnam War, menopause, and impotence. Through depicting these controversial issues, the series became arguably one of television's most influential comedic programs, as it injected the sitcom format with more dramatic moments and realistic, topical conflicts.[4]

All in the Family is often regarded in the United States as one of the greatest television series in history.[5] Following a lackluster first season, the show soon became the most watched show in the United States during summer reruns[6] and afterwards ranked number one in the yearly Nielsen ratings from 1971 to 1976.[7] It became the first television series to reach the milestone of having topped the Nielsen ratings for five consecutive years. The episode "Sammy's Visit" was ranked number 13 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time.[8] TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time ranked All in the Family as number four. Bravo also named the show's protagonist, Archie Bunker, TV's greatest character of all time.[9] In 2013, the Writers Guild of America ranked All in the Family the fourth-best written TV series ever.
