Fedor vs Arlovsky Is Here - Jan 24th

As MMAJunkie noticed, Affliction (inconspicuously so) revealed Fedor Emelianenko's next opponent.

As posted on the promotion's web site, the WAMMA heavyweight champ will take on Andrei Arlovski at "Day of Reckoning" on Jan. 24.

Among other fighters promoted for the event are Josh Barnett, Matt Lindland, Vitor Belfort, Vladimir Matyushenko, Jay Hieron, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Renato "Babalu" Sobral and Chris Horodecki.

Arlovski (14-5) last defeated IFL champion Roy Nelson at "EliteXC: Heat" on Oct. 4 -- an event co-promoted by Affliction and the recently deceased EliteXC.

Emelianenko (28-1) last beat ex-UFC champion Tim Sylvia by submission at Affliction's debut event last July.

"Day of Reckoning" was originally set for Oct. 11 in Las Vegas, but was later postponed and moved because of a new partnership with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. Or, that's what Affliction claims anyway. As MMAJunkie notes, slow ticket sales may also have played a major part in the postponement. It is believed the Jan. 24 card will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

I got Fedor for this one by TKO he's one of the best right now. These two are definitely not going to let this go to the judges. But I would like to see an upset from Arlovski.

I'm looking forward to Fedor Arlovski. Anytime you can get top 10 fighters it is a good thing. You can make a case for Arlovski being in the top 5. Arlovski has good striking and decent ground game. Granted, Fedor punches like he has two wrecking balls attached to his arms, but anyone can get knocked out... and didn't hunt give fedor some momentary problems on the ground.

Fedor probably bashes Arlovski, but
1. He is ducking no man, contrary to popular belief
2. Arlovski represents a credible test for Fedor
3. Props to Affliction for setting this up

Uh, Noguiera didn't finish him either, remember? And Noguiera would've lost that fight had Herring not thrown it, he had Minotauro KO'd.

Lesnar also didn't want to finish the fight, he wanted to go the distance to prove a point.

Lol, you do realize that Fedor is 240 and Matt Lindland wrestles at 185? Brock would be 285. In addition, Lindland was in the process of taking Fedor down and Fedor grabbed the ropes (illegal) and was able to fall into top position. At 0:30, you can see that. And he had already been warned twice about grabbing the ropes. And Matt, a weak striker, CUT Fedor with glancing blows. Actually, Fedor getting cut too easy might be his biggest weakness.

But you need a very good wrestler with very good striking who can take punches who'll fight Fedor. Kevin "easy to submit" Randleman probably could have KO'd Fedor with his brute stregnth but Kevin is too arrogant. He is arrogant to the point that he keeps getting subbed and beat.
