It's not about hiding your feelings, it's about putting them aside at times so that you can handle real life situations appropriately. For instance, I'm sure Obama gets frustrated and perhaps even cries over some of the lies that McCain and company spread about him. However, you will NEVER see him cry or show that frustration in public. He understands the need to put those parts of his life aside so that he can be a successful politician. The same principle applies for the way that men deal with their women. Save the drama for the sports bar.

I take the better half idea to mean that any woman that you wife up with should be worthy of whatever you're able to offer. The key in all of that is to have something to offer. For instance, if you're a whining crybaby who flinches every time danger approaches how is she supposed to trust you in a real emergency? If she can't trust you how the hell are you supposed to trust her?

man real talk.. when I read post like this I am kinda on the fence in a sense. You see I am the exact opposite. Im comfortable being single and I have this complex with relationships that always results in me ending them either by being an ass or just abruptly moving on. I just turned 27 and have no kids and no steady relationship. At this point in my life, and as long as I have been living the way I have, who knows if I will ever settle down. Kinda sucks.

it's always easy to say when you're on the outside looking in but basically, (and i sincerely mean no disrespect cause we've all been there) you're a sucker for love/simp. i'm speaking from experience (but mostly from what i've seen), there's nothing wrong with being nice. it really depends on why you're nice. be nice to people who deserve kindness and most importantly, be nice for the sake of being nice. people can tell why you're being nice to them (if not consciously then sub-consciously). if you're being nice out of insecurity because you're scared of losing her and think that you probably can't do better than her, she'll feel it. she'll feel like she's the best you could pull and will feel like she's not worth that much.

She doesn't feel lucky to be in a relationship to be with you. My overall advice is not necessarely to be an asshole (although you'd actually get more results than what you've been doing so far). My advice is to be nice for the sake of being nice and find ways to subtly make her feel like she's lucky to have you and her life and to know you. I know you feel like that's what you've been trying to do for the last 3 years but you did the exact opposite. you made her feel like YOU were lucky to have her in your life. From now on you gotta pull a Costanza. when you're wondering what to do, take what your intuition says and do the exact OPPOSITE! Concentrate on bettering yourself for a while. get a job, socialize, get your shit together but do it for you. So that you can feel proud regardless if she wants you or not. improve yourself. Become nicer to people, not so that they like you more but just off GP. Focus on becoming a better human being overall. Once you do that i swear everything will fall into place. my short term advice is to stop sweating her. don't be an asshole. if she calls you can answer but keep it short. Show her you were doing well before her and will be doing well after her. since she called, wait a minute (figuratively of course) and call her just to "see how she's doing" nothing else. keep it short again. when you hang up, don't even call her back until she calls first. If she doesn't call back, trust me, you better forget about it and be glad you weren't 10 years deep.
