what's sad is that the heavyweight division needs this fight....boxing looks like it's on its way out for the MMA/UFC or whatever they call it.

MMA has plateau'd out. It won't get any bigger. EliteXC just squandered away millions on a backyard brawler who got famous on youtube.
UFC has champions straight off tv shows. The "hip" factor will soon wear off.

no offense than you are not a real Boxing fan...they are alot of great matches the Boxing lately...
yes the HW division is shitty...but they are other fighters that have showcase why Boxing is still great.....check them out family...
MMA is popular cuz i appeals to young adults...it has more bells and whistles than Boxing that makes it more appealing...
less wieght classes...setting up better matches is why MMA is so popular....

Yeah the younger Klitschko Wladamir is on HBO. This is the older brother coming out of a four year retirement.
MMA's target audience is 18-34 year old WHITE males. That's the only reason why it's popular. Other than Kelly Pavlik, there aren't any dominant white fighters in boxing. They had to find a sport in which they could excel in since the minorities have the boxing game on lock.
Plus, our society has become addicted to instant gratification. People's attention spans are shorter and the Gen Y people don't want to sit through a 12 round prizefight.

That's why I can not wait for more blacks to enter MMA so the sport can lose popularity. Alot of mma fans don't want to here it, but the majority of most mma matches are not aesthetically pleasing to look at.
