Tyler Perry Studios Grand Opening

No, Omama/Biden has my support.

I don't support trash movies or literature. He dresses up as a black woman and supports black stereotypes in his moves, for Gods sake. Wake the Fuck up, Black People!!! I don't give a hit if he built that shit in the middle of Bowen Homes projects, it still is poisoning the community.

Right now your acting like a Black Stereotype. "The Militant" from Im Gonna Git You Sucka! Right now you sound like a Black Militant who wishes to paint Black Folks as 1 Dimensional Beings. It's either we all become BLACK PANTHERS or we are Poising the community.

You never heard of folks calling their grandmas Ma'dear or Big Momma? That shit is real in most Black Communities.

Because I take a stand on issues, I'm militant??? A term that whites use for Blacks that refuse to bow down. What is that about? Look, Perry is a hard working man and I'm happy for his accomplishments but he got to where he is now because he use black stereotypes.

A friend of mine works for him. just moved to ATL a few months ago. she coming up this week. I personally don't watch any of his movies, but i congratulate him. She has nothing but good things to say about working for him.

That's just what I don't get when people say that. The Madea character is based on an ACTUAL PERSON. And every film and play has a variety of characters. I wish people who have not seen his work to judge it fairly would shut up and quit being crabs

Dayum I was thinking the same thing!! I am soooo not mad at his hustle...He has a vision and he is not lazy in making it a reality...I dont understand the hate on him.

Well I like his movies and his plays. I like the positive "religious" message in the Madea movies and plays *shrugs* and even if I didn't I will always support a black man who is out their on his grind. I especially like how he gives out of work black actors an actresses roles in his movies.

I don't understand why people are so quick to throw him down because of one character "Madea" but quick to help Lil Wayne sell a million units in a week... or make I Love New York/ Flava of Love show the #1 shows on VH-1:dunno:

I don't find the Madea character offensive because I don't know anyone around me who acts like that character. I don't see white people tripping over the Austin Powers movies or any of their other over the top comedic white characters....

I said you SOUND like a Militant. I didn't say you were. I stand up for the Rights of Black People as well, but you don't see me calling his shit Stereotypes. You see a few of his Characters and you go call them Stereotypes?

Behind every Stereotype is Truth that we are afraid to admit. A lot of Blacks folks had Big Mommas and some of them owned Guns, Cursed you Out, Threw their shoes at you and went to Church every Sunday. That aint a just a stereotype, It's simply a part of Black Culture that most of us experience but since you cant relate, you think its simply a stereotype. A lot of Black folks don't see Madea as just a Stereotype. They see that shit as their Grandmothers.

Yeah, the actually person is Ms. Sophia from V103, a transsexual DJ from Atlanta.

not a big fan of his work but the nigga is making moves and I can't hate that...wish I was in his financial position

I'd like for you to please stop quoting that ignorance. Thanks.

Whats more ignorant? Me voicing my own thoughts or you claiming I'm quoting something?

Please do a follow Up on what it means to Quote something, o.k. Follow up?

I mean serious, Where the hell are most of you so-called Revolutionaries from? Are you really suburban kids just trying to rebel?

Relax. You're sounding a little armchair-militant yourself. I was referring to you continuing to quote Esther :)

why cant we hate his movies or plays? good that hes making money but its not HATE to say we dont like his work. soon as you go against the majority you're "HATIN".

Basically, that's all people do around here is sling around the 'hatin', 'crabs in the barrel' and 'ignorant' terms. Your not allowed to go against the grain. Blacks gets so up in arms if a white person uses black face but it's okay if a black person uses stereotypes. No one is hurting blacks more than blacks.

Hatin' is when you say shit like "His movie sucks" or "He ain't shit" without backing it up with facts. Its coo not to like something but atleast back it up with some sort of reasoning. Hating something and not knowing why? That's the problem. But you're right. If I have to see stereotypes i'd rather see them from my own people than a race who's brought so much evil towards my race. And let me say that I have no problems with blacks playing stereotypes in Hollywood. I have a problem with the lack of diversity. I don't mind seein' the baby mama raising 3 kids with no man in the household but at the same time i'd like to see the single dad raising 3 kids and the mother not in the household. Tyler atleast attempted to give us that with Daddy's Little's Girls. I by no means and a Tyler supporter. I've been critical of his shit from the get go. I feel he should try a little harder to appease moviegoers rather than just make every film about the same premise. But I don't get the knock on him for reinforcing stereotypes. Hardly. He's one of the only filmmakers showing blacks in successful roles on film. Its like we're ashamed to be who we are. I should refrain from being myself so that whitey is comfortable.

Shoot Tyler is a fairly young dude to be doing all of this, I ain't no fan of his work but I have to give him major props for this.:yes::yes: Other cats in film game who have been in it longer need to step up as well.

i agree with you about that militant shit. them crackas are so hypocritical it aint even funny. got the largest military industrial complex in history and a black person who isn't blind to the facts is "militant" and a danger.

you still a stupid bitch though.

He beat Will Smith because This was his vision. After self producing his shit for the longest he learned early on what he wanted to establish.

Will only gets his 20 Mill a flick. Tyler is a Producer so he gets money for as long as the movie is making money. Thats Theater, DVD, Digital Downloads, Cable and TV rights... etc.

LionsGate did not have 100% trust in Tyler's Product but they were willing to take a chance, They signed some deal with Tyler has to front the money and they just distribute it meaning more money for Tyler if the movie is a hit. All his movies made over Double the Budget. And as dumb as his TV Show is, TBS signed up for 100 Episodes off the Pilot alone giving him a whole lot of money to shoot all 100 episodes. I know all this because I saw his Biography on TV 2 weeks ago.

Tyler is that you buddy?

Much props and respect for Tyler Perry.

Why am I not surprised that this thread is littered with jealous-ass, criticize-but-ain't-doing shit, cubicle-dwelling, know-it-all-and-don't-know-shit motherfuckers.
