Let's be honest though, that's not who Obama is. He'll never been the attack dog. I think at worse it was draw. Obama wasn't as passive as you're making him seem. Compare this debate to any of his others and he was more aggressive in this one. He hit McCain on a lot of issues. I know you (hell I wouldn't mind it either) him to be more aggressive but when you look at it as a whole, Obama stayed on McCain and answered most of the lies McCain made.
I agree Obama let mcCain slide a little but you gotta think, as a black man running in white America, what's it gonna look like if they see a brotha verbally skull fuck an old white cripple who's a POW? I don't think you win a debate through character asassination, and that is all mccain did after Obama killed him on the judgement card on Iraq. Staying on policy points in relation to the american people wins the debate...and Obama did that.
