The Florida Federation of Republican Women has launched a national boycott against Oprah, urging women to turn off her show and cancel their subscription to O magazine. They say it's unfair that Obama, whom Oprah has endorsed and campaigned with, appeared on her couch twice before accepting the nomination, but that Winfrey refuses to book Palin.

But Oprah says, "At the beginning of this campaign, when I decided I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates."

The Florida Federation of Republican Women are boycotting The Oprah Winfrey Show after the talk-show host refused to allow Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as a guest on her show before the election. FFRW also urges subscribers to the celebrity's magazine, O, to cancel their subscriptions.

Cindy Graves, a vice president of FFRW, says Oprah Winfrey built her career catering to women and the advancement of women's rights. Now, Graves says Winfrey is alienating a large portion of her audience by refusing to interview Governor Palin before the election.

"This [story] is...a women's issue, again, regardless of whether you support Governor Palin or you don't," said Graves. "And we feel as though that Oprah, bless her, has always been someone we respected and we were just so surprised and shocked that that would be her stance."

In a press statement, FFRW president Linda Ivell says the decision not to bring Palin onto the show until after the election means the popular talk-show host is "sit[ting] out the greatest political moment in the history of Republican women since suffrage."

Graves says the incident has prompted FFRW to collect examples of media bias for their website. “We're going to be publishing those, and document instances of those on our website," she continues. "So the people who are interested in the issues we're interested in can understand exactly who we are tuning into and who we're not.”

Winfrey has endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama and has made several campaign appearances with him.

Oprah set these "poor" bitches straight ! Oprah OWNS HARPO STUDIOS, and damn it, she said she ain't gonna bring the white bitch on the show. Please ! They wish they could touch Oprah's pockets, they wish ! I'd wipe Oprah's ass with a q-tip, to get at her money !

White people continue to amuse me at how childish they become when they don't get their way. She said well before the election she wasn't going to have candidates on her show but of course since they're white, they want an exception made for them... but wouldn't that be like affirmative action?

I'm sure Oprah is lying awake at night worrying about the FFRW affecting her magazine subscription circulations and broadcast ratings. Oprah is principled if anything. The GOP is always trying to intimidate.

CHURCH! Especially on that first statement. Whites believe in a "fair America" as long as they get to keep their social advantages and get special treatment whenever they feel they need it, which of course, makes it UNFAIR, but they feel that because they are the majority that they can redefine what is fair and what is not.
None of the candidates are going on Oprah. They need to deal with it.
Hopefully Oprah will stand her ground and not let her media bosses bully her.

FUck Dem Ole Ass Cracka Bitches.

c/s They don't watch Oprah anyway. Repubs don't like seeing Black people wealthier than they are. Besides, oprah's off the air in 1 or 2 yrs anyway.

"Thanks for all the money, bitches! So long, suckers........"

wow after oprah springboards Obama's political career for his presidency run, she decides not to use her show for political means. What a stupid lying bitch! Fuck Oprah.

By the way, down here in Louisiana(and I'm sure its not the only state) black people bitch up and down the street when they don't get their way. I can write a fucking book on the stories.

Just wait till Obama gets his dumbass stomped at the debates.

Go McCain/Palin

wow after oprah springboards Obama's political career for his presidency run,
Are you suggesting that Ms. Winfrey was wrong for exercising her "private" constitutional right to support and person or idea of her choice ???

she decides not to use her show for political means.
Did she not separate her "personal" agenda from her "shows" agenda ???

And, white people don't bitch and moan ??? The actions of the Florida Federation of Republican Women are not prime examples -- of white women, birching and moaning up and down the street because they're not getting their way ???

No, what I am saying is Oprah helps Obama's political career and then turns around to say she will not use her show to help any candidates career. This is what you call a contradiction. And besides, with Oprah being so big on women's achievements and rights it seems only logical for her to allow Palin on the show.

And I never said that white people don't bitch and moan. I was stating that although "White people continue to amuse me at how childish they become when they don't get their way." Black people do their own fair share of it. Next time maybe you should realize that I am replying to previous posts and try not to put words in my mouth.

No. Its what you call a contradiction because YOU disagree with her. On the one hand you admit that its okay for her to have personal choices and to voice her personal opinion; on the other hand, you want to force her to use her show to suit YOUR preferences.

And besides, with Oprah being so big on women's achievements and rights it seems only logical for her to allow Palin on the show.
Please. Because she is a woman SHE MUST SUPPORT PALIN BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN TOO ??? That doesn't sound ridiculous to you ??? Does all Black people are obligated to support Barack Obama; all white people are obligated to support John McCain; and the rest of the people have to wait until one of theirs is on the ticket -- sound equally as ridiculous ???

Next time maybe you should simply understand/acknowledge that all people bitch and moan, hence, it was useless to try to cite one group to fit your argument at the time when the same logic would come back to kick in you in the ass?

Once again, Oprah helps Obama's career then later states that she will not not use her show to help anyone's career. BUT SHE ALREADY HELPED SOMEONE'S CAREER...OBAMA's. So this is a contradiction. Since she already used her show for him, she can now claim this. If this still is confusing to you, then you are hopeless.

Once again you put words in my mouth "Because she is a woman SHE MUST SUPPORT PALIN BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN TOO ???" I said it seems logical for her to be on the show, I never said Oprah has to support her b/c they are both women.

Oprah only had him on the show before he announced he was running. Therefore it DID NOT help his campaign because there WAS NO CAMPAIGN. How it helped his "career" as you put it, when he was already an elected Senator is beyond me. It seems to me you're attempting to make the argument that because of her status what ever she does in her private life is a part of her profession life. The bottom line is the GOP wants her to break her word and have someone on the show during the campaign which is BS.

When he was on her show, everyone knew he was gonna run for President he just hadn't "officially" announced it.

Well, it looks like the Florida Republican Women's and your arguments on this one are . . . well, pailing.
