I have yet to read a single REASON why reparations isn't owed or should not be paid.
If a company owed your mother 100K and you inherited her estate, are you going to let the company off the hook because THEY don't think YOU'D spend the money wisely?
These objections not only fail to make sense, they show the need for reparations.

by the way..who will repay all of those blacks during the times of 'jim-crow' who were wrongly imprisoned, had land stolen, forced out of their own homes, setting in motion generations of poverty? Blacks do not have to go to far back to make a case for reparations, shit... statutorily before the year of 1964 whites pretty much ran rough shot over black people and their communities. In many instances, there is in fact a paper trail, showing the deceit and chicanery utilized to steal land and homes. This in my opinion, MUST be redressed. there are families living RIGHT NOW, who can make a damn good case for family property and the like. In a general sense though, without the mind of the black family changing in a revolutionary way, the concept of reparations alone, will go over every one's head. My opinion..of course.

Demanding payment on what you are owed doesn't mean you're sitting around doing nothing. I've left jobs that owe me money. Did I wait until they paid me to find other work? No. Did I let them off the hook for what they owed? NO. Did I get my money? Hell YES!

If the government was to pay out for reparations it should not be payments directly to decendents of slaves, hell most blacks in this country are so far removed from their direct ancestory it would be difficult for them to get directly paid so the government should instead set up a fund monitored by congress and watch dog agencies where that money directly goes into training and hiring better teachers, better schools, new books and the such so AA children are prepared and can compete not only with their peers in this country but globally as well.

I do notice that some blacks who are against reperations tend to be blacks who were born here or came here when they were little but their parents are from the Carribean, Africa, England, or South America.
But still your parents chose to come to America, your slave descendants were in those other countries. So you would not qualify for reperations. No wonder some blacks are against it. They are not descendants of slaves in America.

If by some slim chance raparation is given (which I doubt) then two choices should be offered to people. They can either receive checks or something of that nature. Or their portion of money can be used to help fund and improve the situation in the community. That way both groups will be satisfied.

Obama scares some because he is showing (like many of us) what a Black man can do with god-given talent, education and opportunity WITHOUT reparations. God forbid if all the Black people he's trying to turn out at the voting booths began to think the same way.
If Obama gets in Office and is successful for at least 6-7 years and has turned things around in the right direction and people are eating. THEN reparation might be something he could pull off but don't count on it. Count on yourself.
