Divide and conquer has been a political, economic, and social strategy since the roman senate. The phrase is derived from the latin "DIVIDE ET IMPERA". It is the practice of splintering large groups of power in order to make them more manageable, usually by pitting them against them selves for the betterment of a common enemy. And this is no different. But it isn't Barack and wright that are being separated, it is us. We flood this board, and our mental space by choosing a side to ride with. Some of us have chosen the "Obama is a Bitch ass sell out" faction. Others choose the "Wright is a selfish attention whore" faction. And both are incorrect. Rev. Wright was extremely intellectual, and accurate in everything he said. He wasn't inflammatory, bombastic or divisive. He was true to his mission as an activist. Barack was true to his mission to be the president. In his mission he has to lull many close minded whites to vote for him, to feel comfortable voting for him, and thus had to separate himself definitively from Rev. Wright.
