Maybe his death(if jail related and suicide is jail related) might bring attention to this shameful thing we call "family court", or as I like to call it "anti-family court".

For every levert in the hole there are men paying weekly who are not even allowed to see their kids. :smh: :smh:

No way this man 39 needs to be stressed out in the county for child support. They so crooked they make men pay for kids that aint even theirs.

They so crooked they will make you keep paying for a kid that you find out aint yours, or if you lucky let you stop but wont refund your money or throw her in jail. :smh: But they will hit you with back support for a kid years later. :lol: :hmm:

What if a guy spends 80k on kids he thinks are his, later finds out they aint, bet that cunt dont get 22 months, so miss me with the BS fam.

Right on Gene, I co-sign to the 100th power, its at a point where you seriouly have to watch who you have kids with. Shit is like a job screening now
 
First of all R.I.P to Sean Levert and I hope his pops doesn't die of a broken heart.


Second of all, I'm not quick to judge situations and say things like "greedy bitch", "dead beat father", "piece of shit judge". It is possible he didn't care about his child, it is possible the childs mother was greedy, it is possible the judge came down extra hard. However, I don't know because I've not paid much attention to the story until now.

Thirdly, putting someone in jail for not paying child support is counter-productive. I think the equivalent of a halfway-house/work release program or a probation officer that ensures you are attempting to pay the debt would be better and more productive.

Last but not least..Life isn't always "fair". While I can't imagine it, MAYBE he had a good reason for being $85,000 behind in child support. But, as a black man in America you've got to assume the possibility of getting the fucking book thrown at your ass when it comes to things like this. You've got to know the rules of the game. Once you know the rules you have choices, you can:

A)Play by a different set of rules(say "fuck it"...nothing is going to happen to me...could be painful)

B)Not play the game at all (i.e. keep your ass out of legal situations at all costs)

C) Play by the rules of the game (know that if you don't pay child support you could very well go to jail)

In hindsight, we can cleary see that a life is more important than $85,000. And consider this.....NOBODY won! EVERYONE lost. Sean, the state, the child's mother, and the child. EVERYONE LOST
 
Sean died much to young, it's either foul play or suicide, either way it's sad.

...or heart attack. He was not in great physical shape and under an enormous amount of stress. This situation was ripe for massive coronary. At any rate this is a shock... a terribly sad one at that.

Definitely. I couldn't believe this when I got word this morning and my heart just BROKE for Eddie when it was confirmed.

I just hope he can pull through this. It's gonna be so tough. :(

Same thing she'd tell him/her if asked why "DAD" couldn't be bothered to pay child support. "Dad" was in jail for ROBBING his child.
