I'm so tired of having to defend black women so I'm backing away from this![]()
That radio show was laden with a lot of stereotypes and just angry bickering about African American women. Although the host did speak some stats and facts, he did it in such a way to completely turn off black women who may have been listening in on the show.
How can we ever get ANYWHERE as a people if we just sit and bicker with one another? And, also, what was the point of posting something like this on SOL without a discussion question when you know it's going to probably piss off more than half of the members of this board?
On a side note, what I have witness in the community is both men and women feeling they are too good and better than the their counterparts and being extremely superficial and materialistic in their quest to find a mate (i.e., she must be a certain weight, have a certain hair length, or he must make a certain amount of money or be a certain skin complexion) rather than looking at longer, true ATTRIBUTES of an individual.

Women wrote so many books after books bashing men but get upset about a 10-15 mins Radio show speech.

What up peoples?
I read both boards often but really just post on the business network side but just wanted to add my 2 cents.
I think that we both men and women both have several issues. I agree with the brotha maybe not his delivery but he is kickin realness. I did the school thing. BA and MS (Just paper, opens doors but still just paper) In school I was always in class with a bunch of Black women who insisted they didnt need a man this that and third. I always thought I want a woman who is independent but still understands what her role is and what my job entails. It comes down to play your position, I find that women want to run the team or drive the car when Im looking for a navigator and an assistant. No knock on all women but by far I find women who say "I know my role", but when its game time they trying to run it. Then have issue with when I say you need to fallback and play your position. Ofcourse Im alittle more tactful most times but for times sake Im being less verbose. That being said I have found MANY lovely Black Women whose pros heavily outweigh the cons. Still that true helpmate mentality while women are under the age of 40 has been eluding me.
Weight and health concerns are also an issue that we can work on if they are willing. Some say they are but when I say you work out today I hear I was tired I was this I was that. Non cypher on that. We cant build together if I dont eat red meats or fried foods and you want to eat Mickey D's.
I also meet women who dont feel like its there duty to cook and clean. Even if Im on the money making extra hard. Meaning I make enough to make mortgage (not rent), take our yearly vacationsss, lay the pipe and again be fair and just.
Now Im not all knight in shining armor cause I still like to hunt but Im still thinking thats becasue I havent met the woman who embodies the things above. Hard for me to stay faithful at this point. Its almost like I have BENZ money but I drive a Excel sooner or later Im gonna be like I need to get that Benz.
Peace to all yall though. The biggest problem that we both have is having an open ear. We have to listen and honor both sides. I see cats on here thats attacking women. Bottom line is yall (women) cant hear what we say in that tone. Same way that we cant hear a word yall say when yall blanket Blackmen in a negative light. I know it can be hard to stomach when most of your experiences have been that way but we both play a part.
Peace yall

Can we make Jo's reply a sticky for this same tired ass question. For real I'm about to go straight BGOL style and just post ass, titties, and dicks in these redundant threads. SOmething for everybody!
People that REALLY want to get married (black or otherwise) and do what it takes to get married (including moving halfway around the world if necessary), GET MARRIED in my experience. Why even assume "can't"? Tired question and tired flawed reasoning.
Better question...how come across the board in the west (yes, white folks too!) people can't STAY married? That seems to have more value imo.
EDIT: That gif is FUNNY! LOLZ!!!!
reading both sides i found this stat interesting:
78% of Black women are overweight, 50% R obese, 70% R single.
i know many "complain" on both sides about the weight thing, but it is an everyday issue.
you just can't sweep it under the door, if enough people are complaining about it, there must be some truth to it.
But honestly Don what does a person's weight have to do with being married?
Peace

I know this was not my question but I think it has alot to do with not getting married. On the psychological side. Women are attracted to men for security, safety and stability while men look for child rearing qualities which one of them is physical appearance. Thats white, Black, red or green. Also if you driving a 92 corolla but you have Lexus money sooner then later you gonna trade up. Nothing like waking up next to a beautiful in shape, about her business Black woman. Its like you hit the lottery. Kinda like why when folks get money they only marry pretty in shape people. Why? Becasue they can and thats what we all want to get the best for our moneyIn so many words

last I checked it was FAT MEN out there too, and I'm not tryna lay up under no fat ass man. Fat men got some nerve talking about they want a girl who is in shape and only 120 lbs, so he can crush her...![]()
Again, to me, all the rants about black women being out of shape has got to end. We can bitch and moan about it, or we can help sisters altogether, get in shape.
