What is this new phenomenon of rappers stealing dancehall dances and acting like they created it?

fat joe - lean back is actually elephant's man's rock-a-way
yung jock's - motor cycle dance...come on we've been doing that dance since 2004. Now they claim the south originated that dance.

Isn't anyone original anymore?

This has been the case for years now and not just in hip-hop but R&B too.

Fat Joe he stole it because Ele stole a cadence from Tony Sunshine and he was sick of hearing Ghost and JC Lodge covering R&B songs the same week they come out.

Nygga, New Orleans aint seen a real motorbike until 2001, shut up.
continue riding your bicycle with no shirt on yelling " yessuh " to every passerby.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but rap/hip-hop has roots in dancehall reggae...maybe the shit is going full circle now...just my 2 cents.

im with the dude that posted earlier... who gives a shit. people bite shit all the time, and try and take credit, wether a person bite lyrics, a sample, or a dance it's all the same, 90% of whats out now is some remade bullshit.

Dance hall been robbing hip hop for years I know u dont think west indans make dance hall popular in the States if hip hop dont embrace it then its done

Hear dis fool now. it didn't help to make it, so how can it break it?

yeah dancehall been robbing hip-hop for years but its also been a vice versa thing...so either way its a moot point but hip-hop not embacing dancehall will kill dancehall in the states?...you crazy or just plain dumb...too many africans, and west indians (even 2nd and 3rd generation) to let that happen...anyway even if the US does lose interest in dancehall we still lock europe, japan and africa

its actually designed that way dummy, producers record numerous artists on their riddim as it is the riddim which is marketed, more often than not, rather than the artist...there are many reasons as to why this is done but you're really not worth the time right now...keep livin in ignorance, it don't affect me none...

i know thats the idea of the shit.. but that just proves my point lil bitch.

nothing about reggae promotes unique styles.. so much of it is cookie cut from the next dude.

I'm old school, we used to grab girls and find a nice wall and get our grind on!.

Sheeit, I remember leaving parties with paint on my back!.

Nygga you're from harlem, you should not speak of homos and dancing.
From the harlem shake to chicken noodle soup.

Ur the fool how old are u i grew up in th era where hip hop made it popular so we can break it.. so u say Shaggy Supa cat Shaba Sean Paul all was successful in jamaica b4 the states I don't think so bruh!!

did i claim to be a tough guy?...i don't think so but i guess your ego had to throw that one out there...if intelligence and logical thinking threatens you then i guess you're no more than i originally thought you to be...anyway

hip-hop has also exhibited a penchant for cookie-cutter creation so once again your point is moot...dancehall was born from a country with less than 3 million people therefore wide differences or unique styles isn't going to happen easily (just like 90% of hip-hop from the south with vastly more than 3 million or even 30 million people sounds the same)...got it Tough Guy?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

you do know that dancehall is bigger than these people right?

shaggy is from new york so fuck him, super cat and Shabba were VERY popular in jamaica before the states, sean paul was also well known in jamaica (for over five years) before he dropped albums in the USA (they only sold alot of albums in america because lets face it: jamaicans don't buy albums, they marketed themselves to a larger market...so i can see where you'd misunderstand)...so maybe ur the fool after all
