Looks cool. I can't wait. This will be the Hulk movie people have been waiting for.:yes: When the original movie bombed, Marvel wasted no time in going back to the lab. They have to do this right, Hulk is one of Marvel's key properties.

yeah this time MArvel is doing it themselves and not licensing their property to another company. Creating MArvel Studios will turn out to be the best idea ever.:yes::yes:

Yeah thats cool and all, but this shit is supposed to come out in two months and there hasn't been any kind of trailer?

The Iron Man trailer came out in gatdamn September....

the crazy thing is that as bad as that first Hulk movie was, it DIDN'T bomb. it made well over 100 million bucks, which is why Marvel got the go ahead to make another one.

this time they're incorporating the TV series characteristics in it as well.

i hope the CGI is better, there were some moments in the first one where it just didn't work.

I think it cost about 135 to make, and made 132 domestically. After you add in overseas and DVD sales, they made their money back, but not enough to greenlight a sequel right away. I'm just glad they didn't try to bring back Ang Lee for this one. The first movie paced WAYYYYYYYY to slow. By the time shit started popping off, I was ready to leave. Him beating the shit out of that Abrahams tank with the top of the other tank was hilarious though.

if they didn't make enough money to warrant a sequel made this fast, HOW did they warrant making a sequel this fast?

besides, here are the numbers:

Theatrical Performance
Total US Gross $132,160,047
International Gross $113,000,000
Worldwide Gross $245,160,047

that justifies a sequel.

Buk, generally in order to get greenlit on a sequel, you need to pull in at least 2x times plus, what the original budget was. Movie cost 135 to make, so 270 would have justified a sequel from jump. If you noticed, the original Hulk came out 5 years ago. If they were that confident about the next installment, they would have made another one in 2004/2005.

we're going to have to agree to disagree, 'cause you're dismissing a lot of information.

movies NEED NOT double their production cost to warrant a sequel. that's a guide, not a rule. Ghost Rider 2 is being produced right now. check to see how much it made.

as long as a movie makes a profit, a sequel will be given the nod.

the Hulk made 100 million over it's budget, which meant automatic sequel. it took longer to produce because it had to get in the back of the line behind the other Marvel movies in production.

Just to be clear the production of this movie is totally different than the last. This is officially MArvel Studios second film after Iron Man. Marvel Studios was founded in 2006 in order to capitalize off Marvel Comics properties so the money stays within Marvel Enterprises. I think this is an important part of discussion you two are having. regardless of how much money the movie made Marvel would have went back to the lab with this project because they know that the Hulk franchise IS profitable. Also it is one of the more gauranteed profitable properties they could roll with starting out. They can't do X-Men or Spider-Man because other companies have those licenses and the Hulk has certified history. Marvel loss out on millions with X-Men and Spider-man.
