ok ladies i require your assistance

I want to apologize for getting emotional about the situation, Da Don. It was not my call to make. I do, still, think that that was cold hearted. Business does not have to automatically mean cold.

From what you have stated, nothing she was going through directly effected the sales of your office. I've been the manager and director over many different types of people and projects, financial and otherwise, and you don't always have to sacrifice people for the bottom line.

I understand the uncomfortable feeling that a woman going through that type of situation can cause an office atmosphere, yet I just don't see where letting her go has to be the final decision.

no, her dilemna did hinder performance. how can you perform your job if your back in the bathroom for hours not wanting to come out? even if she was out on the floor a black eye and bruises are a disraction.

:confused:Feeling compassion for someone in a bad situation makes me "emotionally fragile":confused:Sorry if my life doesn't rotate around "the bottom line" ... you can't take any of that money with you to HEAVEN when you die but a kind heart will follow you through many lifetimes ... just my opinion though

i don't know how trying to take money into heaven fell into this equation, but this has nothing to do with being kind/being mean. someone is not able to perform their job so they had to be let go. plain n simple.

well all the extra stuff ur saying about her NOT doing her job b/c she is hiding/crying and such should have been included in the initial explanation of the situation

and it seems like u didn't need our help, ur mind was already made up

i never made the decision. i just support the reasons.

Sometimes youth can blind. Sometimes age can as well...lol....

I was stationed in JAX back in '95(I'm telling my age..), a young dude with high asvab scores, and I got quick promotions...the military is a world unto itself and the bottom line is often just pleasing a higher official, but what I learned there is that no position can give you respect as a man. No amount of money will render you a don. What you do stains the fabric of your personality, and people can smell it.

HONESTLY.

You have to realize that you are building a reputation, and just like what you did on your job, well, you have set up the parameters for any judgment or decision that those who have surpassed you will have to make. Basically, that the job is more important....

men are not made by money, we just make it...

Thank you ... this is what I was trying to say earlier ... you worded it alot better than I could have though ... you gotta teach me how to do that ... FOR REAL

Aye, look AC, the realest brothas on the board got my number...

Some of the realest women have my picture...(get at me scorp, you know which one...)

I don't fear your caricature...

You posted the damn request. You didn't have the mind to make the decision yourself, so you logged on. You didn't have the balls to do it, so you past it on. You will be what you will be.

As far as all that hip shit you on with this internet bravado...

I'm OWL, a poster who speaks his mind, who don't hide his feelings behind popular conventions, who will offer assistance even when others have given up on themselves...

...a motherfucka who don't run to the net every time his nuts are in the ringer....

 ....... .......

You have to understand how business works. This man is trying to establish his brand in an area that is completely unfamiliar with him. I'm quite sure he and his partner want to put their best foot forward, and this would not be with a woman who is bumped and bruised. Customers don't want to deal with other peoples issues, they've got their own.

And though you may think it 'cold' that this woman was let go, you've got to look at the bigger picture, and not jeopardize the well-being of the OTHER employees. Any sort of madness could come from keeping this woman, which could impact customer flow, and perception, and then he has to close the store/stores, now what about the OTHER unemployed people?

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one."

This is why everyone isn't meant to own their own business.

you speak as if we've spoken on occasion or something.

and that's good really...cause same goes for most on this site somebody has somebody's "number" and the same line as well: "scorp get at me" since she has my pic too... i guess that must be a big thing to do on here....okay:lol: yeah, those who i feel that are the "realest" women on this site have my pic too, scorp, MLL... so if that's a beat your chest moment, we can all do that....

your right, i posted it, read the response, and decided since i'm asking black women i'll leave the decision to a black woman. problem solved. that is what i pay her for.....

what bravado? i asked a question i got a few answers and a few "presumptious rants":

ninjas, such as yourself, thought i was talking about a black woman:smh:

Come on, man, have you ever built a business before?

I was eighteen with no help and had to talk these same types of women into working for me. You guys are so lost in this capitalist frame work, that's why I pray every night that it dissolves...

I apologize.

Look, people make the money. The money can't make itself. When you see that someone is being abused, you step in. You are right Da Don, it ain't for everybody, but some MEN understand. I've lead the most scarred women into houses better than I had. Y'all keep letting these crakaz tell you how LIFE FOR A BLACK MAN should be....

they don't know what "cold" is.

"Cold" is laying off every last person on a whim because i can, but i wouldn't. wouldn't benefit me none starting this over from the beginning. These aren't "my employees' some of you fail to realize. They came with the deal and i'm weeding out those who won't be able to keep up.

AC...you will always be you, man...

and I guess, in this world we all got to deal with that fact...

You assume that "business" as usual will gain you the persona that you wish you had...

I was very humble in my apology, you have reminded me of the words of tupac...You will always be beast, some sort of animal for men to look at and laugh as we pass by your rantings and moans of approval...all the dons I know treat Black women like queens, and they crack backs when some one on their team is hurt, and they don't worry about white folks opinion...

of course, a "ninja" like me would have those types of family members....

i would first consult HR

i honestly dont think its wrong to fire her tho, i knew an associate who got fired from her job showing up looking like a punching bag..it is unprofessional, a potential liablity to you. and prolly affects her work

maybe losing her job would finally give her the motivation to seek help

Thank you Owl ... this is what I thought life was supposed to be about ... helping each other as opposed to putting each other into worse positions just so we could profit financially ... MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL .. I believe that with everything I have inside of me cuz it makes men turn their back on those who need them the most so that they could have enough money to buy an over priced car ... Corporate America got Black people fucked up thinking it's all about the benjamins:smh:

another who is waaaay off base.

her termination has not much to do about profit it has to do with functionality. some of you are clueless when it comes to some things.

the saying cheaper to keep her really suits this situation the best. where do you think the profit lies with, me keeping her or the time and effort it's going to take to replace her with someone new and train them? do the math since your stuck on profit.

lol you still missed the whole thing:lol::lol::lol:

Come on, Doc...!!!

look, man, I'm really not available tonight, but you keep coming like we are stupid or something...

Then you got cats who barely made it through college trying to sideline your blind opinions!!!

Aye, look...

Do you, DA DON, young AC, I have to do me...and hopefully, at fifty, you can look back on your life and you can feel you have accomplished something...

I'M learning the hard way what NUBIAN said, we all ain't cut from the same cloth...be a capitalist, cuzz, I'm a be soldier...I'll see you at the crossroads, make sure you got your story ready....

Nah man, you're mixing metaphors. I'm compassionate, but I'm also realistic. His business is not in battered womens shelters. This woman had other issues, she's 27 and the kid punching on her is 19!

And this isn't a strictly capitalism constuct. You have to make personal sacrafices for the greater good all the time. Even in your own family. Da Don shouldn't be responsible for this womans problems, that's apparently what people like you are for.

humor me then because right now your in another world....

you and a few others keep referring as if i'm talking about a black woman. i am not. which is the reason why i'm thinking some of you are jumping too soon with the cape and shield.

i'm not (repeated) talking about a black woman.

lol you still missed the whole thing:lol::lol::lol:

Personally I don't care if she is Black White Green or Purple ... everybody deserves respect

Are you saying that like it's a bad thing:confused:cuz I actually applaud the attitude he has of uplifting people ... too many people only think of themsleves

i believe he's going on with this for the wrong reasons. i think he's standing up for the preservation of a black women when it's not a black woman i'm talking about.

there is nothing wrong uplifting people. but there's a time and a place for everything.

:confused:Didn't realize kindness and compassion had to take a number and wait it's turn

i did my kindness and compassionate bit:

One particular woman has me stumped as of what to do with. She's an abuse case as in bruises and black eyes on a daily basis. So I spoke to her today to hear her story. She's 27 her boyfriend who beats her lives off her is 19.
She's scared to leave because she's scared to be alone. A headcase if you ask me, but I feel pity for her.

if you read what i posted. i did speak to her on her situation and it's clear that it's not going to change no time soon.

kindness and compassion did it's bit. common sense now had to take a turn at it.

but you don't want to hear that huh?

You know what the funny thing is?

Me and YOU are going back and forth with intelligence, and yet me and AC aren't...

YOU haven't said anything about a situation that YOU were in that is similar. My point is that he acted out of cowardice, come on,now, he posted a QUESTION on the internet for assistance, THEN he posted that he passed the fucking buck...

I'm far from dumb...and I might be wrong, it may have been a little woman from Mars who was being brutalized...

I have been trained not to treat my team as objects for fire...

Let me get this youngster right, y'all...

YOU CAN BE A MAN ANYWHERE IF YOU ARE A MAN...

Soooooooooooo asking her what happened is showing kindness and compassion??? Or did that come in after you called her a "headcase"

Listen ... I just feel bad for homegirl cuz I've met plenty of women in that same situation and it just always seems that people like to kick you when you're down ... I just think losing her job on top of everything else she is going through is a tough break and I feel bad for her:smh:If you can sleep with your decision then that's you ... I personally don't know what I would have done I just think firing her the day after she opens up to you about her home situation is FUCKED UP:smh:

I hope losing her job on top of everything else doesn't push her to suicide :smh:

Oh man, please, can you niggas stop??:lol::lol: Oh damn, you niggas. Y'all gotta be kidding me. Is Cameo gonna come in here next??? Or The Flash?? Is he gonna say he hit her in the "phace"?

And this nigga Owl. "I am the uplifter of people" Who the fuck is AC? Is Da Don your long lost dad or some shit?

Point Blank: Da Don asked a question with a half-assed explanation of the circumstances, he should've stated that she was in the back afraid to come out. This nigga is in the business of sales and SALES is all about how you LOOK and how you present the product to the customer. They're in the store, so they obviously interested, it's up to YOU to close the deal. If this woman has Black eyes and fat lips, she cannot do the effective job. Furthermore, she is letting some YOUNG nigga hit on her, so she has some issues she needs to work out. Da Don BOUGHT OUT the store and has NO emotional connection to any of these niggas. If you've ever been on the wrong end of a buyout, you're already fearing the pink slip, so you fix up the shit you can to make yourself look more presentable. Da Don could've let everyone go and hired a new staff. He didn't.

He talked to her and determined her mentality wasn't gonna change. Who knows what the limit of the abuse was? You don't need that with a new acquisition. Though, like someone said earlier, I would've told her if she could get her life together, there's always room for her at Da Don's House of CellPhones and CellPhone Accessories.

And the realest niggas on BGOL don't have my number, because I don't call men like that.
And the realest ladies too, get at me Tanisha, LaQuon, Sherie, Mia, Mya, Maria, holla at me.

You know what the funny thing is?

is that what your panties are all bunched up for? because i let someone else make the decision?

for someone who knows so much about "business sense" then you as well as many others would have agreed with one common thing:

I put people into positions to handle this sort of thing. That is her (the "black lady" who did the firing) make that decision because that's what i pay her to do. That's why i displaced her 500 something miles from her home in cleveland, ohio to come down here and do what's needed to be done.

translation for the impaired. I realized it wasn't my responsibility. just like it's not my responsibility to stand on the sales floor and sale phones.
